Jaya Bachchan and Amitabh Bachchan are one of the power couples in Bollywood. The couple tied the knot on June 3, 1973, in Mumbai, and since then, they have been shelling out some major couple goals out there. Even today, whenever Amitabh posts a photo of himself with his wifey darling, Jaya, internet users just go into a frenzy. Jaya and Amitabh make up a really good pair, and they have always proved the same. Amitabh is generally a workaholic, and he still works at 81, but there was a time when he was free and took up the duty of running the house, which ended up making Jaya feel 'crazy'.
In an old interview with Filmfare back in 2012, Jaya Bachchan shared how Amitabh Bachchan drove her crazy once. The actress mentioned that in between, Amitabh was not working and decided to run the house, and that's how he made everyone feel mad. The actress revealed how her husband was buying a washing machine and oven, which she couldn't accept as a housewife. Jaya shared that her husband suggested that they should throw away or donate the home appliances and buy the latest models. Sharing Amitabh is not a control freak, Jaya stated:

"In between when he wasn’t working, he drove all of us crazy. He was busy buying an oven, washing machine… which was difficult for me as a housewife to accept. But he insisted saying, everything was old and to donate or throw them away and buy the latest models. He was trying to run the household which was hilarious and painful. He’s not a control freak but he does like to be in control of his life.”
Jaya Bachchan further mentioned that Amitabh Bachchan takes care of everyone's feelings in their household and never insists on making decisions by himself. She also shared how Big B, once in a while, would come up with something, such as if he liked a dish, and would suggest that they should have it again. Jaya could be quoted as saying:
"And he has great consideration for the feelings of the rest of the family. His strong sense of being fair always surfaces. He never insists on taking decisions for the family. He never wants a say in day to day affairs. Once in a while he’ll mention that he’d liked a particular dish and that could we have it again. Of course we all know his preferences and make sure they appear on the table.”
In one of the episodes of KBC 16, Amitabh Bachchan was asked by a contestant by which name he called Jaya before and after their marriage. Amitabh revealed that he used to call his wife by her name before their marriage, and 'ji' was added after they got married, as he wanted to give her respect. When asked about who made the first move in their relationship, Amitabh mentioned that there was nothing like that, and they used to meet as friends only. Their love story began while the shooting of their film, Zanjeer, was going on.
Amitabh mentioned that their friends decided to go to London if the movie would do well at the box office, and it actually brought good results. The actor shared that when they wanted to go to London, his father, Harivansh Rai Bachchan clearly mentioned that if Jaya would want to go, then first she needed to marry Big B.
