Jaya Bachchan Takes Hilarious Dig At Her Name Controversy, Says 'Mai Jaya Amitabh Bachchan, Aapse..'

The veteran actress-turned-politician, Jaya Bachchan has created a huge name for herself. Even before marrying Amitabh Bachchan, she was a renowned actress. However, after getting married to Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan chose to take on lesser projects. Soon, she found interest in politics. She has been a serving member of the parliament in the Rajya Sabha from the Samajwadi Party since 2004.

Jaya Bachchan took a hilarious dig at her name controversy in Rajya Sabha

Earlier this week, Jaya Bachchan was left offended when she was called 'Jaya Amitabh Bachchan', which left her furious. Within a few days, netizens found out her nomination letter, wherein she registered herself as a 'Jaya Amitabh Bachchan'. Now, on August 2, 2024, Jaya Bachchan took a hilarious dig at her name controversy.

Days after being called by her husband's name, Jaya Bachchan left everyone laughing out loud in the Rajya Sabha. She referred to herself as 'Jaya Amitabh Bachchan' and tried her best to control her laughter while the entire house and Jagdeep Dhankhar were seen laughing out loud. She was quoted as saying:

"Sir, mai Jaya Amitabh Bachchan aapse puchti hoon ki. Did you get a lunch today?"

Jaya Bachchan got angry after she was addressed as 'Jaya Amitabh Bachchan'

Earlier, Samajwadi Party MP, Jaya Bachchan made headlines after she lost her calm after she was called out as 'Jaya Amitabh Bachchan' in the Parliament. However, Jaya Bachchan didn't like the way of being called out and reacted to the same. She added that her identity stands independently of her husband's name. She was quoted as saying: 

"Sir, sirf Jaya Bachchan bolte to kaafi hojata.."

Not only this, Jaya Bachchan added that it is a new way of calling out females by their husbands' names. She further stated that a woman doesn't have their own identity and they have accomplished nothing. She said:

"Yeh jo hai naya tareeka nikala hai mahilaye apne pati ke naam se jaani jaayegi. Unki koi astitva nahi hai, unki koi uplabadhi nahi hai."
