Ponniyin Selvan star, Jayam Ravi’s hostile split with Aarti, his wife of 15 years, has become quite the media spectacle. From Aarti’s claims that the divorce wasn’t consensual to speculations over singer, Kenishaa Francis instigating the separation, all eyes are on the estranged couple for the next development. Well, with Jayam Ravi now filing a police complaint against Aarti, it seems that all hopes for an amicable settlement have been quashed.
According to recent reports, Jayam Ravi has reached out to the Adyar police for assistance amidst his messy divorce. The renowned Tamil actor alleged that his wife, Aarti had barred him from entering his own home on ECR Road in Chennai. Due to the same, Jayam Ravi claimed he was unable to recover a number of his personal belongings, including his car.

However, when the police approached Aarti for questioning, she vehemently refuted his claims. According to her, it was Jayam Ravi himself who was choosing not to return to the house. The police then asked the two to resolve their disputes mutually.
It is essential to point out that Jayam Ravi had struggled to recover access to his Instagram account earlier. Aarti, who had been managing the account, refused to give the actor its credentials. Jayam Ravi then had to reach out to Meta directly for help in regaining rightful ownership of the account.
Once his Instagram handle had been recovered, Jayam Ravi wasted no time in deleting pictures of Aarti from it. At the same time, he made a post about his upcoming project, Brother and captioned it, ‘The new me’. The picture, which was clicked at the movie’s audio launch, was met with mixed responses from fans. While some professed their undying support for Jayam Ravi, others criticised him for opting for a divorce rather than thinking about his children.

Jayam Ravi has made several statements to the media regarding concerns that have arisen due to his divorce. The actor had firmly told the Hindustan Times that he was going to put up a tough fight for the custody of his sons, Aarav and Ayaan. He then spoke to the media about his involvement with Kenishaa Francis saying the allegations were entirely false. According to Jayam Ravi, the two were merely planning to open a spiritual centre together and he had all the paperwork to prove it.
The actor also made a strong statement concerning the widespread speculation over his personal affairs. In an interview with DT Next, he said:
“When people try to bring down the image that I have earned over the years through hard work and choice of scripts, I can only manage to laugh. It’s not easy to malign my name. If you could think that the entire thing unfolded with the announcement episode, it did not.”
