Pistol shooter, Manu Bhaker won hearts in the country after bagging two bronze medals in Paris Olympics 2024. Despite being just 22, she has made the nation proud with her achievements, and netizens can't stop praising her talent and resilience. Her victory invited cheers from Bollywood and celebrities across different domains. However, John Abraham's wishes for the young Olympic medalist have brought him under criticism.
Manu Bhaker returned to India after her applaudworthy performance at the Paris Olympics 2024. She clinched two bronze medals, one in the women's 10-metre air pistol event and another in the mixed 10-metre air pistol team event. The champion received a grand welcome at the airport, and crowds of people and the media came to welcome her. One of the stars who congratulated her was John Abraham.

John took to his IG and shared a picture with Manu Bhaker on his IG handle. He was seen wearing an all-black outfit with a black tee and pants. He smiled while posing with Manu on one side, who held her medal with a big smile. On the other hand, John held another Olympic bronze medal, which Manu won. He captioned the picture writing:
"Had the pleasure of meeting Manu Bhaker and her lovely family. She has made India proud!! Respect."
Netizens were unhappy with John Abraham holding Manu Bhaker's medal. They quickly took to the post's comment section and expressed their disappointment. One user wrote, "You shouldn't have touched the medal," and another wrote, "Why are you holding her medal? She earned it. You don't have the right to hold it, you don't even know her before the Olympics".

Manu Bhaker hails from Haryana. Her father is a chief engineer in the Merchant Navy, while her mother has been an educationalist. She began training with her coach in 2016 for junior world tournaments and won the silver medal at the 2017 Asian Junior Championships. The following year, she won nine gold medals in the national games. She won the team gold for India in the women's 25m pistol game at the 2022 Asian Games. Recently, she won two bronze medals at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.
