Son of producer-director, Brij Sadanah and his actress-wife, Sayeeda Khan, Kamal Sadanah was once hailed as the most sought-after actor of the 90s. He and Kajol made their debut with the film, Bekhudi, in 1992. Born in a family of filmmakers and actors, Kamal started his Bollywood journey as an assistant director at the age of 16, but he was always sure of becoming an actor. However, it was in 1993 that the actor rose to fame with the movie, Rang, alongside actress, Divya Bharti.
However, Kamal Sadanah's life was full of turmoil. For the unversed, the actor lost his parents, Brij Sadanah and Sayeeda Khan, and his sister, Namrata on his 20th birthday. October 21, 1990, marked Kamal's 20th birthday, and he was busy making arrangements for the party. Soon after, he heard noises coming from the ground floor of the house as a fight broke out between his parents. Then, Kamal was stunned to hear a loud crackle of gunfire.

Kamal immediately rushed to the spot, and the ground slipped under his feet when he saw the scene. His father shot his mother and sister, and they both were lying dead on the ground. Though his drunken father had also aimed at him, he missed the shot and Kamal fainted. However, when he opened his eyes, he found himself at the hospital. The police informed him that after killing his mother and sister, his father shot himself and committed suicide. This accident left Kamal shattered, but he took care of himself and started a new life.
After losing his family, Kamal Sadanah lived in a palatial bungalow by himself, along with a staff of 15. He received a lot of support from his close friends, who helped him recover from the loss of his family and set his foot forward towards his career. Talking about his personal life, Kamal Sadanah got married to makeup artist, Lisa John, on January 1, 2000. The duo is blessed with two children, Namrata and Angath. However, the couple parted ways in 2021, after 21 years of their marriage.

Earlier, in an interview with the ETimes, Kamal Sadanah opened up about his divorce from his wife, Lisa John and revealed that it was a mutual decision. Mentioning that such things often happen these days, the actor said that two people grow apart and go in different directions, and his relationship with Lisa was one of them.
For the unversed, Kamal Sadanah worked with Kajol after 30 years in the 2022 film, Salaam Venky, which marked his comeback to acting.
