Bollywood actress, Kajol is happily married to actor, Ajay Devgn. She embraced motherhood for the first time in 2003 when she gave birth to her daughter, Nysa. Seven years later, she became a mommy of two as she welcomed her son, Yug. However, Kajol has been playing a mother onscreen long before she embraced motherhood in real life. And once again, she will be seen portraying the role of a mother in her upcoming show, The Trial: Pyaar Kaanoon Dhokha.
In an interview with News18, Kajol opened up about playing the role of a mother onscreen and shared that it is different from the equation she shares with her children, Nysa and Yug, in real life. Mentioning that she wishes that a mother-child relationship should be written in a more real fashion, she said:
“I’ve played a mother about 120 times (laughs). The way we play moms in real life and reel life is very different. According to me, as a woman, when I see a relationship shared by a mother and a daughter or a child onscreen, I always feel like it needs to be a little more real.”

Elaborating further, Kajol mentioned that she believes that parents and children have a complicated relationship and that directors should try to portray the same in the films. However, she added that she often tells her kids, Nysa and Yug that there are certain things that she doesn't like about them, but she continues to love them. In her words:
“In real life, parents and children have the weirdest connection and relationship. I always tell my kids, ‘There maybe things I don’t like about you but I will always love you.’ That, I hope, has come across in The Trial.”
Kajol further talked about how her children don’t watch her work and revealed the reason behind it. Elaborating on the same, the 48-year-old actress said that once her aunt also told her that she can't watch her films as she cries a lot. Though the former wanted to compliment the actress, Kajol got confused and told her that even her kids don't watch her movies. She concluded:
“An aunt of mine actually told me once that she doesn’t watch my films because I’m a very good actor. I was shocked! She added that had I been a bad actor, she would have tolerated me crying onscreen but since I act well, she can’t see me crying. It was supposed to be a compliment, but it felt like an ulta thappad. I was so confused by the end of it that all I could tell her was, ‘Thank you, aunty!’ My kids also have the same belief system. They think that I cry too well and that they can’t take it.”

Kajol also heaped praises on her husband, Ajay for adjusting his schedules according to her. In her words:
“I have the most amazing family, who supports me beautifully. In fact, my mother-in-law was one of the first people to tell me that I should start working after Nysa was born. They said, don't worry about her and we are there for you. My husband adjusts his schedule according to me. So, if I have an outdoor shoot, he makes sure that he doesn't have one and vice versa, you know we do that for each other.”
