Some relationships are beyond the understanding of society and don't really need a tag to be there for each other. And that's the kind of relationship shared between Bollywood's ex-flames, Anurag Kashyap and Kalki Koechlin. The two have always been there for each other while they were married and even after they got separated. Anurag met Kalki when he was directing her in the film, Dev D in 2008 and fell in love with her after six months of their meeting. However, the director was already married at that time with Aarti Bajaj, but they soon got divorced in the year 2009. Anurag and Kalki had gotten married in the year 2011 but they had parted ways in 2013 and remained friends since then.

On September 10, 2019, Anurag celebrated his 47th birthday, and Kalki took to her Instagram handle to share a lovely wish. She shared a clipart of riffle AK-47, and wrote, "Happy birthday AK-47 May you keep shooting wild and colourful films for very many years." Take a look at it below:
Well, it is not just Anurag's ex-wife, Kalki, who showered him with cute birthday wishes, but his current girlfriend, Shubhra Shetty also posted a cute wish for the director. She shared an Instagram story for him, and wrote, "You have lived 17,166 days. Keep going." To which Anurag replied through his own Instagram story, "Thank you. And since you have lived only 9,547 days, so don’t even compete." Check it out below:
Coming back to Anurag and Kalki's failed marriage, in an interview, Kalki had talked about the same. She had shared, "Once I got married, I was only invited to the things that Anurag was invited to. People would say, 'Call Anurag's wife'. They wouldn't say, 'call Kalki' or 'call Kalki's husband'. In marriage, a woman becomes the weaker sex, even if her husband doesn't want her to be. This happens because of the way society has built the institution. I found myself alone after a very long time. I had to fill up that empty space somehow. I didn't want to fill it up by going crazy and getting drunk, or by surrounding myself with the people. I chose the introverted version of filling up myself by spending more time at home, with the family. I'm happy I went through that journey." In an interview with Humans of Bombay, Kalki had shared how media and the society treated her after the divorce. She had stated, "The struggles never really end. When my ex-husband & I separated, I had to deal with the rumors. Every time I stepped out with a man, the media thought we were dating. Journalists would ask how my life was post-divorce, how was I handling my career & balancing it? Even concerned neighbours would ask my parents such questions. But I chose to ignore it."
For those who don't know, a couple of days back Kalki had revealed the man of her life in an Instagram post. She had shared a cute picture with him, and had written, "It's always a Sunday when I'm with my favourite caveman."
