Kangana Ranaut is one of the super talented actresses in the industry. Moreover, she recently added another feather to her hat by winning the Mandi constituency's seat in Himachal Pradesh as a representative of the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) in the 2024 Lok Sabha Election. However, soon after this, she faced an unfortunate incident when a CISF official slapped her at the Chandigarh airport. Following this, several celebrities reacted by calling the act completely unprofessional, supporting Kangana in this matter.
But recently, when veteran actor, Annu Kapoor was asked about the same in a media conversation, he remarked that he was unaware of who Kangana Ranaut is. Now, the actress reacted to the same. Taking to her IG stories, Kangana shared a video from Annu's press conference, and penned a hilarious note. She mockingly questioned whether society dislikes successful, beautiful, and powerful women. She wrote:
"Do you agree with Annu Kapoor ji that we tend to hate a successful woman, hate her more if she is beautiful and hate her even more passionately if she is powerful? Is it true?"

During a press conference for his upcoming film, Hamare Baarah, Annu Kapoor was asked about the incident when Kangana Ranaut was slapped at the Chandigarh airport. To this, Annu failed to recognise Kangana, and asked, "Yeh Kangana ji kaun hain? Please batao na kaun hain? Zaahir hai aap pooch rahe hain toh koi bahut badi heroine hongi? Sundar hain kya?" When someone from the press informed him that she is an actress and now a newly elected MP from Mandi, Annu further added:
"Oho woh bhi ho gayi! Abhi toh bahut shaktishaali ho gayi hain. I was already jealous that she was pretty because I am not, on top of that she holds power. And you are telling me that some officer slapped her? In that case, I think she should definitely take legal action against the accused.”
During a conversation with Connect Cine, Swara Bhasker shared her thoughts on the incident in which the newly appointed MP, Kangana was slapped by a CISF official at the Chandigarh airport. The actress mentioned that any reasonable person would say what happened to her was extremely wrong. However, Swara also pointed out that at least Kangana is alive and has security around her. She shared:
“Anybody who is a reasonable person will say that whatever happened with Kangana was wrong. Kangana just got slapped–and even that should not have happened–but at least she is alive, and has her security around. In this country, people have lost their lives, they’ve been lynched to death, shot dead in a train by a security personnel, in riots, security personnel have been recorded beating up people. Jo log ye saare acts ko justify kar rahe hai, woh phir aake Kangana ke case pe hume mat sikhao.”

After the incident a few weeks ago, independent journalist Faye D’Souza shared a post on her Instagram handle to condemn it. Faye mentioned that in India, violence can never be the answer, no matter how much we disagree with somebody's views and statements. She also pointed out that it is inappropriate for the security personnel to react violently while wearing the uniform. Soon, many celebrities liked the post in Kangana's support, and among them, we could also spot her ex-boyfriend, Hrithik Roshan.
