Kangana Ranaut is one of the celebrities in Tinseltown who never shies away from calling a spade a spade. Over the years, the actress-turned-politician has shared her thoughts on nepotism in Bollywood and other issues in the industry. Kangana, who is currently promoting her upcoming film, Emergency, revealed that she had turned down an offer from the eminent filmmaker, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, who is every actor's dream director.
While conversing with NBT, Kangana revealed that Sanjay Leela Bhansali approached her to work on a dance number for his film, Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela. The song was eventually offered to Priyanka Chopra. During the conversation, Kangana shared that she disliked how women are portrayed in item songs. She was quoted as saying:
"Aap dekh lijiye mujhe Sanjay Leela Bhansali ne bhi Ram Leela film jo hai usme item number ke liye bulaya. Sab logo ne mujhe bola yeh paagal hai, Bhansali ko mana kar rahi. I said main nahi kar sakti. Chaahe Bhansali bula le chaahe koi bhi, I can’t do item numbers. Artists need to show such integrity. Women ko aap kaise portray karte hain."
This clip was shared on the discussion platform, Reddit, and several users have shared their opinion on Kangana's recent statement. One user said, "PC was really good in Ramchahe Leela. Also, did Kangana forget her item song in Rajjo?" Another wrote, "Bhansali said Aishwarya was offered the song before it went to Priyanka. Priyanka was amazing in the song, and it's impossible to imagine Kangana doing the same justice to the song."

In an interview with Raj Shamani, Kangana disclosed that she has refused to work with all three Khans, Aamir, Salman and Shah Rukh, but it never soured her relationship with them. She shared that many celebrities had misbehaved with her, but the Khans were never among them. She was quoted as saying:
"I have turned down deals worth Rs 10-15 crores because they endorse fairness creams. It is racist. I was like this from the beginning, even before I was successful. I have turned down films with the Khans. But let me be clear, all the Khans have been very kind and nice to me. There’re people who’ve misbehaved with me, but Khans were not one of them."
