However, from Preity G Zinta to Dia Mirza, some Bollywood divas had set an example by getting married when they had felt ready, whether that was in their late thirties or early forties. Among them is famous singer, Kanika Kapoor, who had tied the knot for the second time at the age of 41 and has proved that love has no age. She is popularly known for some of her chartbusters songs such as Baby Doll, Jugni Ji, Chittiyaan Kalaiyaan, among others. In May 2022, Kanika had taken the plunge with her boyfriend, Gautam, and this was her second shot at love.
She had first gotten married at the mere age of 18 to an NRI businessman, Raj Chondak. However, they had filed for a divorce in 2012 and had parted ways. Since the separation, the gorgeousness has raised her three kids, Aayana, Samara, and Yuvraj, all by herself. Talking about her broken relationship with her ex-husband, Raj, Kanika shared that she cannot let one incident spoil the idea of marriage to her. She stated:
“I am someone who hails from Lucknow. I have been brought up in a very big joint family. I grew around my great grandparents, grandparents, my uncles and aunts and even my parents, who have lived a happy married life throughout. I have always believed in the institution of marriage and I understand that sometimes you can be in a marriage with a partner who doesn’t understand you and vice versa. And it is not anybody’s fault. I think it is very important to be graceful and move on.”
Further in the interview, Kanika revealed that she still maintains a cordial relationship with Raj and wishes the best for him. She also talked about the importance of maintaining a good relationship with estranged partners to live a life without hatred and negativity. Kanika can be quoted as saying:
“My ex-partner and I have continued to have a very graceful relationship. He wishes me well and likewise. We will always be there for each other. I think that is how one needs to live and lead life without any hatred and negativity.”
