As the entire tinsel town is celebrating love, laughter and happily ever after, we cannot help but take inspiration from the grand weddings that happened at the end of this year. From #DeepVeer to #Nickyanka, while B-town’s leading ladies mesmerised us with their magical weddings, there is another couple who touched our hearts. We are talking about Kapil Sharma and his proper Punjabi wedding with love Ginni Chatrath in Jalandhar (December 12, 2018). Their wedding pictures captured every heart and went viral on the Internet in 0.002 seconds! After all, Kapil has owned his fan following with years of hard work and making people laugh with his jokes and sometimes being the joke. While we love every bit of his wedding celebrations, recently, we saw another aspect of his grand wedding which served as a perfect wedding inspiration. We came to know that Kapil has donated all the excess food from his wedding to an NGO, Feeding India, which distributes it to the lesser-privileged people in Jalandhar, Amritsar and the nearby cities.

A source said that when the NGO got to know about Kapil's wedding, the officials approached him as they knew it would be a big fat Punjabi wedding and there will not only be a lavish spread of food, but also in excess quantity. The source revealed, “When they told Kapil about their cause, he said yes without thinking twice. He told them to take the food from all his functions including the reception in Amritsar and distribute it.” (Also Read: Kapil Sharma's Newbie bride, Ginni Chatrath Had A Beautiful 'Grih Pravesh' Ceremony, Picture Inside)
Ankit Kawatra, Founder of Feeding India said, “Mr. Kapil is setting an example for others to follow by donating excess food from his big day! This will surely create a much-needed awareness for the cause and will motivate others to follow suit. The thought of Feeding India was born in a wedding, and seeing Kapil donate all extra food to people instead of letting it go to waste is heartening. I am pleased to see him that the person who makes the India country smile and laugh took this opportunity to make others in need smile too. Respect. I hope Kapil's act wakes up the country to not waste food and donate extra from weddings.”
In an earlier interview with IANS, the Firangi star had confirmed his wedding news, “The wedding is on December 12 in Jalandhar. That’s Ginni’s hometown. We wanted to keep it low key. But Ginni is the only daughter in her family. Her folks wanted the wedding to be on a lavish scale. And I completely understand their sentiments. My mother also wants the wedding to be lavish”. He had further added, “My mother has been saying that I should get married for a long time. Suddenly I realised that ‘abhi age ho rahi hai’ (I am getting on in age). So, I thought what if she says ‘no’ and after one or two years, no one agrees to get married to me.” (You May Also Like: Kunal Jaisingh And Bharati Kumar's Pre-Wedding Festivities, Sangeet Practice Videos Inside)
In another interview, Kapil opened up about his love story and shared, “She studied in HMV College (Jalandhar). I was a scholarship holder, as I was a national winner in theatre. I was a student at APJ College and in order to make some pocket money, I started directing plays. I went to audition students at her college and that’s how we met in 2005.” Ginni then went to audition for a play and that’s where the two met for the first time. Kapil continued, “She was 19 then and I was 24. I was tired of taking auditions and explaining the role to the girls. Ginni was so good that I was quite impressed with her and told her to audition the girls for me. As we started the rehearsals, she started bringing food for me. Back then, I thought that she was doing it out of respect.”
