Big Boss 17 and Koffee With Karan 8 are the current hottest topics in the Indian entertainment industry. Since their premiere, both reality shows have created quite a buzz amongst the audience due to certain revelations made by celebrities. The discussion around the two shows increased drastically when Karan Johar, the host of Koffee With Karan, appeared on the ‘Weekend Ka Vaar’ episode of Big Boss, which aired on December 1, 2023.
In the latest ‘Weekend Ka Vaar’ episode of Big Boss, Karan Johar lashed out at Khanzaadi, aka Firoza Khan, for creating issues related to her illness. The KWK host told the housemates that they had given enough importance to Khanzaadi’s drama. Karan stated that no one in the house had made fun of her illness for the past two weeks. Khanzaadi said it was her fault that she revealed too much about her personal life, even when she was asked not to. However, Karan Johar still went on schooling the rapper, saying that people will talk about it if she’s not fulfilling her duties. He further added that he won’t tolerate such behaviour from Khanzaadi anymore. He said:
“This is ridiculous, this is asking for attention, and that I am not gonna handle. Main ye bilkul nahi seh sakta hun. Aapko jitna bhi attentionn dena hai isko ye aap par hai. To me, I will not tolerate this drama, nonsense. Hum nahi bol rahe hai ki inko injury nahi thi, hum biklul nahi keh rahe. That is not what Big Boss is saying, and main bilkul ye baat nahi kar raha. Right now, doctors ne bhi kaha hai ki she’s mentally and physically fit to be in the house.”

However, Karan Johar’s hypocrisy did not go well with the netizens. On the discussion platform, Reddit, a user shared a video by making a collage out of two clips, one is where KJo was seen bashing Khanzaadi for creating big issues due to her illness, and the second one is from KWK 8’s first episode featuring Karan’s confession about his mental health. For the unversed, in the premiere episode of Koffee With Karan season 8, the filmmaker disclosed his mental health for the first time. He revealed:
“The legit attack I had was at the NMACC launch. I remember Varun Dhawan was staring at me. I was sweating. I didn’t even realise my face was full of sweat. Varun came, and he was like, ‘Are you okay?’ My hands were shaking. And then he took me to an empty room. I first thought it was a cardiac arrest. I didn’t know what I was going through. I got out of my jacket, which was long and elaborate. I just left in half an hour."

“I went back home, and I just went to my bed, and I cried. I didn’t know why I was crying. I called my psychologist the next day who I have known and dealt with before. I asked her, ‘What do I do? I’m just going through a tough time, and I also have a film release coming up.’ Then she put me on medication which I’m still on. My mom’s gonna see this. But I’m okay.”
People on the same Reddit thread pointed out Karan Johar’s hypocrisy comparing the two incidents. A user commented, ‘My heart breaks watching this. It's sad how Salman and Karan Johar can get away with this on National TV. They would have been cancelled if this was the United States.’ Another user said, ‘Ummm how are they even allowed to do this? That is such a f****d up thing to do to a person just for trp.’ Someone else said, ‘Thanks for posting this OP! I wanted to post this and show what a bully this insecure nagjo is!’ Check out the other comments:
