Voot Originals is coming up with a new chat show called Feet Up With The Stars hosted by Vogue India's creative director, stylist and consultant Anahita Shroff. In its promo teaser which starts with the line, “Coffee, Couches and Spilled Beans... Now, as per the snippet videos which are promos of the first episode wherein Anahita would be hosting Karan Johar, we get candid insights into KJo’s life, his sexuality, his relationships and his idea of dating. And in one of the most unabashed revelations, while talking about his sexuality, Karan Johar can be seen saying, “I am undersexed and underpaid”. And when he was asked to name one Bollywood actress whom he would have married, he instantly said, “Kareena Kapoor Khan”.
In another promo video, Anahita asked Karan about his dating life, to which the Ae Dil Hai Mushkil director replied, “It’s not that it’s non-existent. It’s few experiences far between”. And when he was asked about a dating tip, Karan retorted, “My dating tip would be not to try too hard. I don’t think we are in an age where you should be pushing yourself down someone’s throat. Just be yourself and things will flow. Just accept and envelope your own persona”.
On being asked if Karan is looking for a big relationship, he replied, “I am happy with serial something. Not even dating”, and both the host and guest quipped together, “serial action”. Karan Johar has always been candid and open about his sexual orientation. In his autobiography, The Unsuitable Boy, he has written, “Everybody knows what my sexual orientation is. I don't need to scream it out. If I need to spell it out, I won't only because I live in a country where I could possibly be jailed for saying this. Which is why I Karan Johar will not say the three words that possibly everybody knows about me”.
Revealing his own good reasons as to why he doesn’t openly say it in public, Karan has also penned down in his book the reality of this country when it comes to his sexuality, the reason I don't say it out aloud is simply that I don't want to be dealing with the FIRs. I'm very sorry. I have a job, I have a commitment to my company, to my people who work for me; there are over a hundred people that I'm answerable to. I'm not going to sit in the courts because of ridiculous, completely bigoted individuals who have no education, no intelligence, who go into some kind of rapture for publicity. I've reached a point in my life where I am not going to conform to what people think I should be saying or doing...So if you have an opinion about my sexuality, then screw you. I don't care”.
