Kareena Kapoor Khan, Kriti Sanon and Tabu starrer heist film, Crew, impressed the audience with its storyline and the top-notch performances by the star cast. The film has done business of over 100 crore in India. Recently, Kareena’s mother-in-law, Sharmila Tagore, talked about her daughter-in-law’s performance in Rajesh A Krishnan's directorial and appreciated that films like Crew pave the way for female-led films.
During a candid conversation with Kapil Sibal on his YouTube channel, Dil Se With Kapil Sibal, Sharmila Tagore shared her unique perspective on the evolving landscape of Indian cinema. In particular, she offered an intriguing view on Kareena Kapoor’s film, Crew, describing it as both entertaining and beyond belief. In her own words:
“It is absurd, of course, beyond belief but there are three women pulling off this adventure. One is landing a plane, one is breaking a safe, doing all kinds of things together and the camaraderie between the three is excellent because they say a woman is a woman’s worst enemy, not so here.”

Further in the conversation, Sharmila Tagore said that her daughter-in-law’s film was not just entertaining but was a commercial success as well. She mentioned that the triumph of such films would pave the way for filmmakers to concentrate on women-centric films more. She said:
“Crew has done very well. Three women are doing all kinds of fantastic things, and it has done well at the box office. This will encourage a lot of filmmakers to do women-centric films.”

There is no doubt that Sharmila Tagore and Kareena Kapoor share a bond beyond the usual saas-bahu relationship, and they have time and again proven the same. Previously, in an interview with DNA, Kareena heaped praise on her mother-in-law and said that she would always be the ‘eternal begum’ for her. In her words:
“For me, my mother-in-law will always be the eternal begum, a career-oriented woman who started a family, who ran the house, looked after three children but yet worked in the biggest commercial successes as well as some great serious cinema. She kind of always tried to balance everything. To me, she still is and still looks super gorgeous. Right from the beginning till now, I can't take my eyes off her. I look up to her in every way, so for me, she will always be that.”
