In a conversation with Anupama Chopra, Kareena Kapoor Khan spoke about how her second pregnancy is different from the first one, Taimur Ali Khan’s reaction on soon becoming a big brother and her take on people assuming baby Tim will become a huge successful star when he grows up. When asked about her headspace and her feelings at the moment, Kareena replied, “Everyone is just overwhelmed with the news, in the family and us, but we’re a little worried because of the time that we are in. I will take each day as it comes and try to be as safe as possible, that’s just the way I’m gonna look at it.” With Taimur in her tummy, Kareena had worked till 5-6 days before she had delivered. In a throwback interview, she had said, “Having a kid is the most normal thing in the world and why should it affect my work. I’m pregnant, not a corpse”. Commenting on the same, Kareena said, “I believe in it even today. Due to the times we are living in, my parents and Saif are worried but I want to do as much work as possible. I want to finish my film work.”
Revealing how her second pregnancy is different from her first one, Kareena Kapoor Khan remarked, “Last time, I just took myself for granted and became huge. I put on 25 Kgs. I don’t want to do that. I just want to be healthy and fit. I think the first time, it's just excitement. Everyone’s like parathe khao, ghee khao, doodh piyo, besan ka laddoos are coming. And now, I’m like listen I have done it before, I know what my body requires. My doctor’s like ‘listen you are not eating for two, that is just a myth. Just be healthy and be safe.’ And that is what I am trying to do.” (Also Read: Karanvir Bohra Tries To Tell A Bed Time Story To His Twins, Bella And Vienna, They Start Crying)

When asked if her son, Taimur Ali Khan, who will be turning 4 in December, is excited to welcome his little sibling, Kareena Kapoor Khan retorted, “He is figuring out things. He is very ahead of his age. We never treated him like a kid. We treated him like an equal and adult. He is very friendly; a giving boy and I think he is ready.”
Addressing the elephant in the room and the most talked-about topic from the past few months, nepotism, Kareena Kapoor Khan commented on how people are assuming that just because she and Saif Ali Khan are successful actors, Taimur Ali Khan will be too when he grows up. Kareena said, “I think everyone gets what they deserve in their lives, what is there in their destiny. Yeh nahi hai ki Taimur Ali Khan is going to become the biggest star in this country. He’s not. He’s probably the most photographed child in this country, for whatever reason, I have no clue. I will also wish for my son that he be self-sufficient and self-reliant. I am like you do what you want to do in life. You want to be a chef somewhere, a pilot, whatever you want to do. I want him to fly and be happy in his life. And it’s not necessary that because he has successful parents, he will be successful. His journey is going to start when he wants to start. He has to find his own path. His parents are not going to help him in whatever way.”
Speaking about how she’s planning to celebrate her birthday this year, Kareena Kapoor Khan said, “I love working and coming back home and give focus to Taimur and Saif as well. Otherwise, if I’m just going to sit at home throughout pregnancy, I have never done that so I don’t know how it feels like. With utmost precaution, one has to take the risk in working during this time. That’s what everyone is doing. I want to finish my professional commitments. But I don’t want to socialize. I don’t want to celebrate by birthday or bring in any festival in social gatherings, and rather ring it in with Saif and Taimur. I’m trying to balance things out. It’s a challenging time so I’m trying to balance what’s important and what’s not.” (Also Read: Sushmita Sen Wishes Her 'First Love', Renee On 21st Birthday, Posts Photoshoot Picture Done By 'Maa')
