Kareena Kapoor Khan recently made her OTT debut with the 2023 Netflix film, Jaane Jaan. Moreover, she took the responsibility of producing the 2023 film, Buckingham Murders, in which she played the role of a detective. Now, she is gearing up for the release of her upcoming film, Crew, alongside Tabu and Kriti Sanon. Amidst that, she sat for a candid chat and opened up about many unknown anecdotes from her life. For the unversed, she has been married to Bollywood actor, Saif Ali Khan since 2012, and together, they are blessed with two children, Taimur and Jeh.
During a recent session at the ABP Network’s Ideas of India Summit, Kareena Kapoor Khan opened up about the ‘most important thing’ in her life. She mentioned the importance of being mentally happy and stable, which is everything for her. Explaining how it also somehow benefits her personal and professional life, Kareena said:
"I think women, every human can have it all – men, women, everybody. But I think what I have, what I count most important amongst all these things, is that I'm happy. And happiness is something that I have because my happiness is my mental stability. And fame, money, career husband, kids, everything falls short if that mental strength and mental happiness is not there. So for me, that is the most important thing that a woman should preserve. Self preservation leads to happiness."

Further, Kareena was asked about a side of her that no one knows. Explaining the same, Kareena shared that people associate her with her onscreen characters from hit films like Jab We Met and Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. However, there is a secret self of her, which she loves to shield from the rest of the world. Talking about how women should keep certain things preserved to themselves, Kareena added:
"Like I said some things should be preserved, should be kept a little bit for the unknown. So that feeling of okay, do we really know her or most people assume that I am either Geet or Poo and I made them believe that could be a possibility. You know, I've made them believe that that could be a possibility but there is a side to me that I like to keep a little private. I think that somewhere, it keeps my, like I said mental health, my mental stability because I think if everything is just left for the known and you know, for judgment, I don't know how we'll survive as actors."
In another segment of her conversation, Kareena credited her husband, Saif Ali Khan to keep her grounded despite making one after the other hit movies. She also talked about their parenting rule that when one of them is busy with work, the other ensures they are at home with their kids. Moreover, she revealed having a pact of not working from June to August every year. They do so since this period coincides with their elder son, Taimur's longest school holidays. Thus, their pact allows them to prioritize family time, and they are seen travelling a lot together.
