Kareena Kapoor is one of the most gorgeous and loved actresses in Bollywood. Belonging to the eminent film family of the Kapoors, Kareena has undoubtedly carved her own path in the film world and enjoys a massive stardom. For the unversed, she made her debut opposite Abhishek Bachchan in the 2000-released film, Refugee. Despite winning so much of love from her fans, there are a few moments when she becomes a target of heavy criticism, and something similar happened yet again when one of her old clips became viral on Reddit in no time.
Taking to the discussion forum, Reddit, a user recently shared an clip of Kareena Kapoor, from one of her earlier interviews with Barkha Dutt. In the clip, Kareena can be seen speaking on many issues related to the film world, including the much-debated matter of nepotism. However, it was Kareena’s defending response towards the same that grabbed eyeballs.

When the host mentioned that the audience does not like watching films made by nepotistic stars, Kareena simply answered that if they don’t like actors from a nepotistic background, they should simply stop seeing their films in the movie theatres. Moreover, she emphasised that the entire power lied in the hands of the audience, since they are the ones who give stars their importance by discussing whether they belong from a privileged, nepotistic background or not.
As soon as the clip found its way to the forefront again, eagle-eyed netizens spotted the same and took to the comment section to express their views about it. Well, the clip received a mixed share of views from the users. A section of netizens expressed that Kareena was indeed correct to mention that nepotistic stars in Bollywood should be ignored thoroughly. On the other hand, some others were quick to point out that after giving out such a statement, Kareena was the first one to promote her films and urge the audience to go watch it in the halls. Nevertheless, another section of netizens thoroughly criticised Bebo and tagged her response as ‘delusional’ and ‘rude’.

The discussion about nepotism in the film world has been never-ending. Moreover, it resurfaces frequently when a new debutant belonging from an erstwhile film family or actor parents make their way into Bollywood. Speaking along the same lines, Kareena, in one of her earlier interviews with Anupama Chopra, spoke about the possibility of her elder son, Taimur making his way to films. She mentioned:
“I think everyone gets what they deserve in their lives, what is there in their destiny. Yeh nahi hai ki Taimur Ali Khan is going to become the biggest star in this country. He’s not. He’s probably the most photographed child in this country, for whatever reason, I have no clue. I will also wish for my son that he be self-sufficient and self-reliant. I am like you do what you want to do in life. “

Apart from being a phenomenal actress, Kareena is a loving wife to her husband, Saif Ali Khan and a doting mommy to their adorable sons, Taimur and Jehangir. Interestingly, in one of her previous interviews with Film Companion, Bebo had mentioned that in her personal life, she loves to handle the duties of a homemaker, and revealed that specific departments of her household are always left under her jurisdiction. In her words:
“Everything is my department, from planning what the kids eat at home, their playdates, their classes, generally ghar pe khana kya bana hai, sahab kya kha rahe hain… I love doing all of that. I love multi-tasking. I love being an actor, a star, a housewife. I love it.”
