Kiran Bedi Used Delhi Police For Surveillance On Daughter, Unauthorised, Investigation Reveals Deets

Kiran Bedi, a former tennis player, became the first Indian woman to join the officer ranks of the Indian Police Service. Kiran Bedi's journey is truly inspirational, and she has also served as the 24th Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry. In her personal life, Kiran Bedi got married to Brij Bedi in 1972. After a few years of their marital bliss, in 1975, Kiran and Brij welcomed their daughter, Saina Bedi. Recently, an investigation revealed Kiran ran a secret surveillance operation on her daughter back in 2003, which had grabbed the attention.

It was back in January 2003, when Kiran Bedi bagged the Ramon Magsasay award and was appointed as the civilian police advisor to the United Nations’ peacekeeping department. Later, Kiran and her daughter, Saina appeared on Simi Garewal's show, Rendezvous with Simi Garewal. Saina was asked what she had inherited as the daughter of Kiran Bedi. Saina said that she had inherited credibility, and to her, being her mom's daughter means 'instant courage and honesty'.

Well, it seems like back in 2003, during their appearance on Simi's show, despite Kiran showing herself as a proud mom to her daughter, the behind-the-scene witnessed tension between the mom-daughter duo, which was on the run, and it could be traced by Kiran Bedi's short statement on the show that she is a very concerned mother at home.

Several Emails, and tape recordings: Investigation reveals Kiran Bedi opting for a secret surveillance operation on her daughter

As per a report by The News Minute, they have got their hands on some emails that revealed that back in 2003, Saina was involved in an illegal business with a married man named Gopal Suri. Gopal used to run a hotel in central Delhi. Well, as per the same report, Gopal and Saina were in a relationship and they were involved in a business, which was a 'visa scam'. Through the business, Gopal and Saina reportedly helped people to get international visas, using Kiran Bedi's profile, with the intention of earning money.

Kiran had an idea about the same incident, and she was frustrated with the fact that her daughter continued to support Gopal Suri's business. Being worried about her future, Kiran, as per the report, acted in two ways, first was to make her daughter change, and second was as a police officer. Although she was in New York with her new job, she used her connection from India to track Gopal and Saina's movements. Kiran reportedly started a secret surveillance operation on her daughter and Gopal, using her connection to the Delhi police.

The News Minute had their hands on several emails between Kiran and her close acquaintances who were involved in the secret surveillance. Not only this, but the same report also revealed that they had even found a report that suggested that Kiran even hired a secret detective agency to follow her daughter and Gopal. The News Minutes even found 20 cassette tapes with the recordings that had information about the surveillance operation that Kiran ran on her daughter, which breached Saina and her partner's privacy. 

Talking about the authenticity of the, the portal also consulted the same with the experts, who confirmed that the tapes were original. The cassettes also had some information about a s**ual assault on a Swiss diplomat in 2003, which was not informed to the investigators. On the other hand, despite the police knowing about the business of Gopal and Saina, they didn't take any legal steps. When the portal asked police if they had permission to do this secret surveillance, they remained unanswered.
