Bollywood singer, KK’s untimely death has broken the hearts of his million fans. Social media is abuzz with the legendary singer’s soothing songs and his friends and fans have penned their never-ending grief. Born as Krishnakumar Kunnath, popularly known as KK was one of the most loved singers of Hindi cinema and his untimely demise is a huge loss to the industry.
For the unversed, On May 31, 2022, KK had performed at Sir Gurudas Mahavidyalaya fest at Nazrul Mancha in Kolkata. After the show, he had felt unwell and on his way to the hotel, the singer had suffered a cardiac arrest. He was rushed to CMRI hospital, where the 53-year-old singer was declared brought dead.

As KK's body was taken for the funeral, his son, Nakul Krishna Kunnath was seen performing his father's last rites. Dressed in a white kurta and mundu, Nakul looked devasted as he enters the ambulance along with his father's body.

KK's funeral will take place at Versova Hindu Cemetery and ahead of KK's funeral, many Bollywood singers and other celebs reached KK's home to pay their last respects to the legendary singer. Singers, Hariharan, Alka Yagnik, Shreya Ghoshal, Papon, Javed Ali, Salim Merchant, Abhijeet Bhattacharya and filmmaker, Vishal Bhardwaj, along with his wife, Rekha Bhardwaj were spotted at KK's residence.
On June 1, 2022, KK's mortal remains were brought to Rabindra Sadan in Kolkata, where he was given a tribute. As a mark of respect to the legendary singer, the West Bengal police had given gun salutes to him, and CM, Mamta Banerjee had also paid her last respect. In the heartbreaking visuals, KK's wife, Jyothy Krishna was seen bursting into tears seeing the mortal remains of her husband.
KK had lent his voice to more than 3,500 jingles and in 1994, when his first jingle with Loy Mendonsa went on air, people had started noticing the voice behind it. However, it was the superhit track, Tadap Tadap Ke Is Dil Se from the film, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, that had made KK a huge sensation.

KK had met his wife, Jyothy in class 6 and since then, they were together. KK and Jyothy had got married in 1991 and had become proud parents to a baby boy, Nakul Krishna Kunnath and a daughter, Tamara Kunnath. During an appearance on The Kapil Sharma Show, KK had revealed how he had never dated any other girl except his wife, Jyothy and had said:
“I have dated only one girl in my life and that is my wife Jyothy. I was a shy guy and couldn’t even date her properly. Sometimes my kids tease me about this.”
KK passed away doing what he loved the most! May his soul rest in music.
