Lakshmi Niwas Mittal, better known as Lakshmi Mittal is the 13th richest person in the country. Renowned by the moniker, 'Steel King of India', he is the Executive Chairman of ArcelorMittal, which is the largest steel-making company (outside of China) in the world. He has a staggering net worth of Rs. 132,272 crore and is considered as one of the most notable business tycoons in Indian history. Lakshmi Mittal is also the chairman of Aperam, which is another notable global giant that concentrates on the production of stainless steel.
Apart from being one of the biggest billionaire business magnates in the world, Lakshmi Mittal also has a three percent stake in the famous English Football League Championship, Queen Park Rangers. Over the decades, Lakshmi Mittal has received a lot of awards and honors for his incredible contribution to India's economy through his business ventures. In 2008, he received Padma Vibhushan from the Government of India. In 2004, he was named as the 'Entrepreneur of the Year' by Forbes, and in 1996, New Steel announced him as the 'Steel Maker of the Year'.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Lakshmi Mittal received a lot of love and appreciation after he donated Rs. 100 crore to PM Cares Fund in 2020. This wasn't the first time when Lakshmi Mittal came forward for help in a time of need, as we have seen him contributing to society with his philanthropic activities over the decades. Lakshmi Mittal established Mittal Championship Trust to support Indian athletes and awarded Abhinav Bindra a sum of Rs. 1.5 crore for winning a gold medal, and also constructed the LNM Institute of Information Technology in Jaipur. There's no denying the fact that Lakshmi Mittal is one of the few Indian businessmen, who never shies away from giving it back to the country.
Talking about his personal life, Lakshmi Mittal is married to Usha Mittal. The couple reportedly got married in 1971 and welcomed their first child, a baby boy on January 22, 1976, whom they had named Aditya Mittal. Lakshmi Mittal and his wife, Usha Mittal embraced parenthood for the second time on August 23, 1980, when the latter gave birth to a baby girl, whom they named Vanisha Mittal. While Aditya Mittal is the CEO of ArcelorMittal, Vanisha Mittal is a non-independent director of ArcelorMittal.

However, it was their first phone call that convinced both of them that they had found a 'perfect partner.' Two weeks before their engagement, Usha and Lakshmi interacted on the phone, and their conversation continued for more than two hours. It was the exact moment when they fell in love with each other. Although it was an arranged marriage, their 2-hour-long phone call changed Usha and Lakshmi's courtship into a love one.
Soon after their engagement, Usha Mittal returned to Banaras to complete her degree. After that, Lakshmi Mittal penned a love letter to his then-fiancee, Usha Mittal. The businessman penned a lovely letter to Usha in which he expressed his love for her. Although the entire letter was so much special to Usha, but it was his one sentence, "Keep smiling always," that won Usha's heart. The three words touched Usha, and it was how Lakshmi Mittal won Usha's heart even before their marriage.
