After winning the titles of Miss Intercontinental 1997 and Miss Universe 2000, Lara Dutta has carved her own niche in Tinseltown. From bagging such honourable titles for the country to entertaining the Bollywood buffs through her stunning onscreen performance in the films, Masti, Kaal, No Entry, Bhagam Bhag, Partner, Housefull, and many more, Lara has accomplished almost everything she dreamt about.
Apart from being an actress, Lara Dutta is also a mother in real life. The actress is the wife of the ace tennis player, Mahesh Bhupathi and together they have a daughter named Saira, whom they love a lot. Lara Dutta is very much attached to her baby girl and is protective about her like any other mother would be.

In an interview with Brut India, Lara Dutta revealed that she was in shock when she found out that her daughter, Saira was aware of the concept of divorce at the age of four. Lara Dutta spoke about Mahesh Bhupathi's favourite series, F.R.I.E.N.D.S. She also revealed that her daughter was hooked to the show just like her dad. Lara said:
“His favourite show ever is Friends, which he got my daughter hooked on to when she was just four years old. So at four, my daughter came and asked me one day, 'Mum...' she was playing a game and she said, 'Oh, I'm living. This is my house, that's your house and I'm divorce."
Further in the interview, Lara Dutta shared that she had almost got a heart attack after listening the word 'divorce' from her daughter. Talking about the same she said:
"And I almost had a heart attack, because I was just like 'What are you saying? Who told you? What is divorce?' and she's like, 'Oh, when two people are in a bad marriage and don't get along and they're living separately, it means they are divorced.”

Lara Dutta further shared that she was very curious to know, how her daughter, Saira, came to know this word. So she asked her daughter, who explained to her the meaning of divorce. Talking about the same, Lara said:
“Who told you this?' She said, ‘Daddy did’. I was like (gesturing a phone call) 'Mahesh, why the hell have you told her what divorce is?' and he started laughing. He was like, 'No we were watching Friends and she wanted to know why was Ross married three times.' I was like, 'So you told her the meaning of divorce?' That's the kind of parents we are.”
For the unversed Lara Dutta and Mahesh Bhupathi had got married in a simple civil ceremony on February 16, 2011, in Bandra, Mumbai. Their wedding was attended by close family and friends. Four days later, on February 20, 2011, at Sunset Point, Candolim in Goa, Lara and Mahesh had a glamourous Church wedding.
On the professional front, Lara Dutta was last seen in the film, Bell Bottom.
