We rarely look into the uncertainties of life as we never realise how fragile our life is. There was a time when cancer was a rare disease but now the scenario is completely different as the deadly disease has become so common just like flu. The year 2020 will always be remembered for its uncertain events and the worst tragedies. Adding to the worst news of 2020, the reports of Sanjay Dutt being diagnosed with lung cancer had only left his fans heartbroken. Sanjay Dutt’s family has a history of cancer. His mother, veteran actress, Nargis Dutt had succumbed to pancreatic cancer in 1981 and later his first wife, Richa Sharma too had passed away due to brain tumour. On August 12, 2020, Sanjay had announced a break from work for some medical treatment and soon speculations had started around his health. Later, film critic, Komal Nath had revealed that Sanjay is diagnosed with lung cancer. Sanjay’s family, who has always been his support system, is standing like a pillar of strength for him in this testing time.
Some days back, Sanjay Dutt and Maanayata Dutt had headed off to Dubai to be with their kids, Shahraan and Iqra. On September 18, 2020, Maanayata took to her IG handle and shared a complete picture of her family. In the picture, Sanjay was seen posing with Maanayata and and their kids. Along with the picture, Maanayata wrote how blessed she feels to have a family. Her note can be read as “Today...I want to thank God for the gift of family. On September 15, 2020, Sanjay Dutt and Maanayata Dutt had headed off to Dubai. Maanayata had posted an in-flight selfie with Sanjay and had written “Enroute Life” atop it. Maanayata had also posted a stunning picture of herself and had penned a note on fear. To mark Ganesh Chaturthi 2020, Maanayata Dutt had posted an adorable all-smiling picture of her twins, Shahraan Dutt and Iqra Dutt. Striking the same pose and wearing colour-coordinated outfits, Shahraan and Iqra were smiling from ear to ear in the picture and Maanayata had thanked God in her caption, which could be read as “Sands are shifting.... On August 8, 2020, Sanjay Dutt was admitted to Lilavati Hospital, after he had complained of breathlessness. The actor had taken to his Twitter handle and had tweeted about his health, "Just wanted to assure everyone that I'm doing well. I'm currently under medical observation & my COVID-19 report is negative. With the help & care of the doctors, nurses & staff at Lilavati hospital, I should be home in a day or two." The actor was immediately tested for COVID-19 but the results were negative and he was discharged from the hospital on August 10, 2020. Later, it was also reported that Sanjay had developed fluid in his chest. A source from the hospital had revealed that when Sanjay was tested negative for COVID-19, an analysis for cancer was done and the results came positive.
