Maharastra Ex-Minister, Baba Siddique Declared Dead After Three Attackers Shot Him At Bandra

Baba Siddique is one of the most famous names in the Indian political world. The renowned politician needs no introduction. He is well-known for hosting star-studded Iftar parties over the years. However, in a sudden change of event, the political was shot dead at Bandra, East Mumbai.

Baba Siddique dies after being shot in Mumbai, confirms Lilavati hospital

Baba Siddique, on October 12, 2024, was shot outside his MLA son, Zeeshan Siddique's office near Colagate ground in Nirmal Nagar. After the firing, he was rushed to Lilavati Hospital, where the doctors declared him dead.

Police are currently interrogating the matter, and reportedly, two suspects are taken into custody. Baba Siddique was shot straight in his chest after two-three rounds of firing. Talking about the judicial procedure, an official said:

 "Two to three rounds were fired. Further probe is underway as teams have rushed to the area."

Shiv Sena demands Fadnavis' resignation over law and order

Shiv Sena's spokesperson, Anand Dubey, has condemned the state's law and order and demanded that Home Minister Devendra Fadnavis resign. He added that if ministers are unsafe in the state, how could the citizens be protected. He also said criminals are roaming freely and fearlessly around the state and committing heinous crimes. Anand further added:

"If former MLAs are not safe in our city Mumbai, if leaders of the government are not safe then how will this government protect the common people? If they cannot keep their MLAs and former ministers safe then Home Minister Devendra Fadnavis should resign. He has no right to continue as the Home Minister. Eknath Shinde has no right to continue as the CM of the state. There is firing on the streets of Mumbai in broad daylight. Three rounds are being fired and people are being shot at... Is this law and order?... The criminals have no fear... The policies of the Mahayuti and BJP had maligned the politics..."

Who was Baba Siddique?

Baba Siddique was an Indian politician, who was working as the Chairperson and Senior Vice President of the Mumbai Regional Congress Committee and Parliamentary Board of the Maharashtra Congress Committee. He had served as the President of the Bandra Taluka of the Bandra Youth Congress (1982), Minister of State for Food & Civil Supplies, Labour and FDA (2004-2008) and Chairperson & Senior Vice President of the Mumbai Regional Congress Committee (2014).

The reason behind the shooting is yet to be known, and the police are diligently interrogating the matter, leaving no stone unturned in their investigation.
