And, the world broke when the news was confirmed on February 25, 2018. The actress left behind a rich legacy of more than 300 films in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Hindi that will always remain close to our hearts.
However, it was the Kapoor family that felt the loss and their world changed within seconds. The void is often visible in the eyes of Sridevi’s family. Earlier, Sridevi’s husband, Boney Kapoor had recalled her final moment, in an interaction with the film critic and trade analyst, Komal Nahta. He had said, “On 24th morning, I spoke to her when she told me, ‘Papa (that’s how she addressed Boney), I’m missing you.’ I also told her that I was missing her a lot. But I didn’t tell her that I would be joining her in Dubai in the evening. Janhvi had seconded my idea of going to Dubai because she was scared, her mom, not used to being alone, would misplace her passport or some important document if she was alone. The Dubai stay was the first time Sridevi was alone for two days – 22nd and 23rd – in a foreign land.” (Also Read: Janhvi Kapoor Shared An Emotional Note For Her Late Mother Sridevi On Her First Death Anniversary)
After Sridevi’s death, her daughter, Janhvi also talked about the challenges that she faced and things that changed after her mother’s death. In an interview with Vogue, Janhvi had said, “The day before she left for the wedding (Mohit Marwah's wedding in UAE), I had to shoot, but I couldn't sleep, so I was like, 'I need you to come and put me to sleep.' But she was packing, so by the time she came to me I was half asleep. But I could feel her patting my head.”
Later, in an interview with Famously Filmfare, the millennial influencer opened up about the pain of losing her mother. She had said, “I think, I was still in that state of shock, to be very honest. I think I am still in shock. None of it has been processed. Like, I have no memory of three or four months.”
Janhvi also talked about the time when her half-brother and sister, Arjun Kapoor and Anshula Kapoor came into her family and became an important part of it. She had said, “You know at the end of the day, we have the same blood in us. I don't remember anything of those four months but I do remember that one day when we were sitting in Harsh (Anil Kapoor's son) Bhaiya's room and Arjun Bhaiya and Anshula (Arjun Kapoor's sister) Didi came in - I think that was the one day when I felt like, 'Ok maybe we might be okay.” (Don't Miss: Shilpa Shetty's Husband Raj Kundra Shares The First Picture From Sister Reena Kundra's Wedding)
