Alia Bhatt is on cloud nine these days owing to the immense success of her films like her last release, Raazi and her love life with beau, Ranbir Kapoor. Though neither has said ‘yes’ or ‘no’ and taken names, it’s quite apparent to the whole world that Alia and Ranbir are dating. For the uninitiated ones, they will next be seen together in Ayan Mukerji’s Brahamastra and on the sets of the film itself, they started dating each other. Ever since the duo dropped hints about their relationship on multiple occasions and media interviews, headlines have been seeming incomplete without them. And we can’t wait for their wedding to happen, right? Speaking of Alia and Ranbir’s marriage, they would need their parents’ approval, correct? And in that department, there seems to be no problem at all.
Talking to a media portal about Alia Bhatt’s marriage to Ranbir Kapoor, Mahesh Bhatt commented, “I have never spoken about my children’s private lives. They are adults and it is their prerogative. I would never demean and belittle them by talking about it in public. It’s their right and if they want to talk about it or to remain silent about it; it’s their choice. I respect what they do with their life”.
In the same interaction, when he was asked about his advice to her daughter, the 69-year-old producer replied, “One thing that we have collectively succeeded in advising her as a family is ‘you may have achieved tremendous achievements today but you have only scratched the surface and have miles to go’. because I feel the worst enemy of any person in any business is the delusion when he or she feels that I am the god’s gift to mankind”.
You must be remembering that a while ago, Ranbir Kapoor was spotted with Mahesh Bhatt at Alia’s residence. Post that appearance, Mahesh ji was asked about Ranbir and Alia. To an online tabloid, he had said, “Oh, the paparazzi age is here and you have people from the outside using their premise to capture the image, because that’s what the nation is thrusting for.’ So, not saying more, I’d let the paparazzi guess if papa is raazi”. On being asked about his hone-wala-daamaad, Ranbir, Mahesh ji was quoted as saying, “He astounded me in Sanju. After Amitabh Bachchan’s Deewar (1975), this is the first time I’ve seen an actor take charge of a character, which is iconic like Sanjay Dutt. Ranbir is barely 34 or 35 and though he comes from the great lineage of the Kapoor family, he has a unique charm and talent that’s his own. He is an original, just like Alia is an original”.
He also revealed if he advises Alia on the matters of relationships and said, “It’s very obvious that [Ranbir-Alia] are making no bones about talking to people about them being intimate. And I don’t belong to that category of parents who’d advise their children about their personal choices. Alia is an adult and it’s a matter that she has to resolve. It’s their life, their space. I respect and admire them for choosing to talk to the world when, and if, they want to do”.
Speaking of the parents’ approval, even Ranbir’s mom, Neetu Kapoor is all raazi for the union of her son and Alia, as is apparent on social media. Recently, when Alia posted a pic of herself with her little cat, Neetu ji commented, ‘awww’ with a love-struck emoji. In fact, when Ranbir had turned photographer for Alia, mommy Neetu had commented, “Fab pic of you by RK”.
