Further in his interview, Mahesh Bhatt revealed that he was becoming an alcoholic. And then, one day, a miracle happened, his second wife, Soni, gave birth to their first daughter, Shaheen. The moment when he held his then-newborn baby in his arm, she shrugged away due to the smell of alcohol. Well, that was the rejection that forced Mahesh to leave his habit. He was quoted as saying:
" I remember walking up to my house, I was living with Soni. She said. ‘What happened to you?’ I said, 'I don't know, I've become an alcoholic'.' And then a miracle happened. My first baby was born with Soni, Shaheen. When I came to the hospital, I was holding Shaheen in my arms and I went to kiss her, I got this feeling as if she moved away. She couldn't bear the fumes of alcohol. She couldn't have done, she was a baby, but this is what I hallucinated and projected. That did it."
Mahesh Bhatt further shared that after that day, he didn't have a single drop of alcohol. For those who don't know, Mahesh Bhat has four kids. He was earlier married to Lorrain Bright (Kiran Bhatt), and they had two children, Pooja Bhatt and Rahul Bhatt.
