Mahesh Bhatt Reveals His Gaze Has Shifted From Daughter, Alia To Raha: 'When I Became A Grandpa..'

Mahesh Bhatt is known for speaking his true emotions in public. He has never put any filter while discussing his thoughts in the media. Recently, Mahesh, who is enjoying the role of grandpa, revealed what changes his granddaughter Raha Kapoor, brought in him and how Alia has changed after embracing motherhood. For the uninitiated, in April 2022, Alia Bhatt married Ranbir Kapoor, and in the same year, the duo welcomed their baby girl, Raha.

Mahesh Bhatt talked about his granddaughter, Raha Kapoor 

In an interview with India Today, Mahesh Bhatt was asked how his life changed after becoming a grandfather. To which, the filmmaker stated that his entire life changed the moment he became a grandpa. Mahesh Bhatt further stated that he had already felt astonished by Alia's achievement, and now she has embraced motherhood. He said: 

When I became a grandpa, I woke up to what the entire world has been feeling since the dawn of time. There is already this wonder of your child, hardly have you recovered from the astounding achievement of your child, who is magical, and now one more dimension has been added to her life and that is of motherhood. Not only is she an astounding actor, but now she is also her mother."

Mahesh Bhatt further confessed that his gaze shifted from Alia to his granddaughter, Raha. And now, he does on her a little more than anyone else. He was quoted saying:

"Then you have a gift from the skies come out of nowhere… To be brutally honest, the gaze then shifts towards the grandchild. Doting on her a little more. Children have that kind of power, to draw you in completely."

Mahesh Bhatt has directed more than 50 Hindi films in his career spanning over five decades. The director stated that one film, he would want his granddaughter, Raha Kapoor, to watch when she grows up is his elder daughter, Pooja Bhatt's film, Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin.

Earlier, in an interaction with Zoom, Mahesh Bhatt talked about the day when Alia and Ranbir decided to introduce their daughter, Raha, to the world. The nanu, Mahesh Bhatt, expressed his surprise and stated he was also shocked when Alia and Ranbir revealed their daughter's face to the world. He added that the couple must have thought that Raha had turned one and it was the right time for her to see the world, who was eagerly waiting to get a glimpse of their child.
