A lot has been said and written about Mahie Gill’s professional life, but her personal life has remained under the wraps. Not many know about Mahie’s personal space as she has successfully managed to keep it away from the limelight. But before unveiling surprising aspects from Mahie’s personal life, let us update you about her current project. Mahie along with Jimmy Sheirgill is all set to woo the audience again with a political revenge drama, Family of Thakurganj. And the film is slated to release on July 19, 2019.
During the promotions of Family of Thakurganj, Mahie Gill unveiled aspects about her personal life, which is hardly known to anyone. In an interview with the Navbharat Times, Mahie revealed that she is a proud single mother to her two-and-a-half-year-old daughter, Veronica, who will turn three this August. Mahie said, "I am very proud that I am the mother of a daughter. Yes, I have not been married yet, when I want to marry, I will do it. In August this year, my child will be three years old. My aunt takes care of her in Mumbai. I too live in Mumbai most of the time." Mahie added that she never chose to reveal that she is a mother earlier because she was never asked this question.
When quizzed why she gave her daughter a Catholic name, Mahie Gill remarked, "Her name is Veronica. She lives with me. Why I named her Veronica - When Jesus was dragged on the cross and he was being taken to Jerusalem to be crucified. A woman dared to wipe his face with her handkerchief and his image got printed on it. That woman was called Veronica. And the meaning is- She who brings victory to true image. Thus I liked the name. And named my daughter Veronica." (Also Read: Shahid Kapoor And Mira Rajput Kapoor's Unseen Pictures In Their Traditional Best At A Family Wedding)
Mahie Gill also admitted that she is unmarried and is in a live-in relationship with her boyfriend. Mahie remarked, "I have a boyfriend. He is not a Catholic. He is a businessman.” Speaking about her marriage plans, Mahie stated, "What to do by getting married? What is the need for marriage? It all depends on their own thinking and time. Families and children can be made without marriage. There should be no problem with having children without marriage, I do not think there is a problem. I am also ready to be the mother of all unmarried children. I think everyone has their own life, everyone has their own principles, to live a life, we must reassure everybody's thinking. Marriage is a beautiful thing, but doing or not is a personal choice."

During the promotions of Family of Thakurgan, Mahie Gill revealed the real reason why she is missing from the action in recent times, to In.com. She was quoted as saying, “Frankly speaking I was bored off playing sexy, hot and bold, drunkard roles on screen. I was either playing a hot wife’s character who is either bold or is a drunkard. I was bored of repeating myself. I did a few and people loved me in that roles post which I was flooded with many similar roles. I thought I will be repeating myself again and again and by doing similar roles so I started saying no to the offers. I didn’t want to be stereotyped so I was waiting for good offers. I was hardly amused with the offers which I came across and that is why I was seen less.”
Mahie Gill, who is juggling between the big screen and digital space, spoke about the growth of the digital space. She said, “I think in the last couple of years, the digital space has only grown. I am always glued to my phone or tab. I have this habit of always watching series or movies on the go. I binge watch when I like a series. If I am bored I immediately have an option to switch to another content. Today we have variety in our hand and as an actor, I feel the audiences' choice varies a lot and we have to be on our toes to give them the best to watch."
