Malaika Arora and Arbaaz Khan were once the power couple of Bollywood. The duo fell in love during an ad shoot and dated each other for five years before getting married in 1998. The couple later welcomed their son, Arhaan Khan in 2002. However, the duo announced their separation in 2016, calling off their 17-year-long marriage.
After their divorce, Malaika went on to date Boney Kapoor and Mona Shourie’s son, actor, Arjun Kapoor. After many murmurs, Malaika made her relationship with Arjun official. On the other hand, Arbaaz went on to date Giorgia Andriani, but the duo later broke up. In 2023, Arbaaz got married to Sshura Khan, a makeup artist.

When Malaika and Arbaaz parted ways, it came as a shocker to many as they always looked happily married. Do you know the couple once faked their divorce? Yes, it was in 2008, when Malaika and Arbaaz signed up a beauty brand. As a part of their ad campaign, the brand’s PR team shared messages with several media houses confirming Arbaaz and Malaika’s split.
The PR strategy was to reunite the couple the next day at the brand’s event. However, the fake stunt turned ugly, and Arbaaz and Malaika were at the receiving end. The couple faced several backlashes from the public and were accused of being publicity hungry. Later, the actor tried to redeem himself from the fake split and even apologised. Talking about the gimmick, he stated:
“I'm very particular about the way I conduct myself, especially about my marriage. Suddenly, I find myself fighting a lonely battle to redeem my wife and my image. All we did was to go along with the multinational's campaign. Is compliance a crime? Then we're guilty. And I apologise.”
After 18 long years of marriage, when Malaika and Arbaaz decided to part ways, the news shocked many. In 2015, the couple started appearing on the show, Power Couples. Though the two were supposed to host the show together, Malaika was missing most of the time, which triggered rumours about their divorce. There was a lot of news about the couple trying to solve their issues and give their marriage a second chance.

After much speculation, Arbaaz and Malaika released a joint statement confirming their separation. It was also reported that Malaika had taken a hefty alimony of Rs. 10 crores from Arbaaz, though there is no official confirmation on the same.
After Malaika and Arbaaz’s separation, her dating rumours with Arjun Kapoor started doing rounds. From their dinner dates to secret vacations, the duo had become the talk of the town. When Arjun turned 34 on June 26, 2019, the couple made their relationship official. Malaika took to her Instagram handle and posted a lovely picture with Arjun with an adorable wish, confirming their dating rumours.

Ever since Malaika and Arjun started dating, the couple was constantly trolled for their 12-year age gap. There have been constant murmurs about their separation too, but the couple has always managed to silence all the speculations. And now as per a report in Pinkvilla, a source close to the couple revealed that the duo has parted ways amicably and in a dignified manner. The source was quoted as:
“Malaika and Arjun had a very special relationship, and both of them will continue to hold a special place in each other's hearts. They have chosen to part ways and will maintain a dignified silence in this matter. They won’t allow anyone to drag and dissect their relationship.”
The source further revealed that Malaika and Arjun had been in a serious relationship for years, and even after parting ways, there was no bad blood between them. The couple would continue to give each other the same respect despite leading to their different paths.
Despite being a public figure, Malaika Arora has always guarded her personal life. Be it her divorce from Arbaaz Khan, getting trolled for dating Arjun Kapoor or her break-up reports, the actress has always maintained her dignified silence.
