Malaika Arora and Arjun Kapoor were together for the longest time. They not only openly accepted being together, their breakup also claimed a lot of limelight. First, their separation rumours made rounds at the start of 2023, but they dismissed the same within a few months. But by the end of 2024, Arjun, during the promotion of his film, revealed that he was single. Now, the ex-flames were spotted at an event.
According to reports, Arjun Kapoor and Malaika Arora reunited for an event by AJIO Luxe. A paparazzo page also shared a compilation of their videos and claimed that they arrived for the same event. While Arjun was dressed up in a casual black-hued t-shirt with white letter-printing, Malaika looked million-dollare in a rust-hued leather dress. Her long tresses and glamorous makeup completed her look.

In 2024, Arjun Kapoor was spotted at a Diwali celebration event with the team of Singham Returns. The film had a huge star cast, and most of them were present at the event. In a clip that went viral, someone asked him, 'Malaika kaisi hai.' However, it wasn't clear, so Arjun confirmed in the reply that he was single. He was quoted as saying:
"Nahi, abhi single hoon, relax."

Malaika always tried to keep her personal matters away from the media glares, but Arjun's comment dragged her into the media limelight. Despite maintaining a stoic silence, Malaika expressed her hurt by clearly stating that she didn't choose a public platform to talk about her personal life in an interview with ETimes. Malaiak also added that whatever Arjun had said was his prerogative. She was quoted as saying:
"I will never choose a public platform to talk about my personal life. So, whatever Arjun has said is entirely his prerogative."
In September, Malaika Arora lost her father, who committed suicide by jumping off his home's balcony. After Malaika's ex-husband, Arbaaz, it was Arjun who rushed to be with her family in the most difficult time. Arjun not only took care of the necessary arrangements, but he also had an awkward encounter with the Khan family, who seemingly ignored him.

In an interview with Raj Shamani, Arjun Kapoor was questioned about his presence at Malaika's father's demise, and taking care of her and her family. Arjun added that it was his instinct and impulse. If he had formed an emotional bond with the person, he would show up. He said:
"When what happened with Dad and Khushi-Janhvi, there was an impulse. In this case, there was also an instinct and impulse. If I’ve formed an emotional bond with somebody, I would always like to believe that I will be there regardless of the good and the bad. If I’m invited for the good, I will be there. And if I’m needed for the bad, I will be there. I’m not somebody who has a lot of friends, I’m not doing this for all and sundry. If that person doesn’t want me there, I’ll maintain a distance, as I have in the past."
