Being in love is one of the best things, but keeping the love intact is hard. And it’s perfectly normal to walk out of it when things start taking an ugly turn. With time, Malaika has evolved as a fashionista, beating the 40’s with her charm. The gorgeous mother to a 15-year-old son, Arhaan, changed many notions when she parted ways and announced her divorce. While many supported her decision, unfortunately, there were many who gave her that eye roll. But nothing mattered as Malla mattered as Malla (as she is lovingly called by her close pals) walked away from the marriage with all her dignity and grace.

And, for the first time post-divorce, Malaika talked about life after the divorce with her BFF, Kareena Kapoor Khan. The reality show, India's Got Talent judge was invited on Kareena’s radio show, What Women Want, wherein she opened up about the odds of her decision. The show started with the kind of advice she received during the process. She said, “I think sab ki pehli yehi raai hai ki mat karna. Koi aapko nahi kahega ki, 'Haan, haan, please jayiye, kariye.' That's the first thing, ki aap soch samajh ke yeh decision lena. I went through the same thing." (Also Read: Bipasha Basu's Baby Sister, Vijayeta Basu's Pyjama-Themed Bachelorette Party, Pics Inside)
She further went on to talk about the night before she got divorced and stated, “Even the night before I got divorced, I had my family sit with me and ask me yet again, 'Are you sure? Are you 100 percent about your decision?' So I think that was something I heard all along and rightly so. These are the people who worry and care so they will definitely say that.”
Malla also revealed how her family and friends supported her, and said, “Everybody said, 'If this is the decision that you're making, then we're really proud of you and in our eyes, you are a strong woman.' So for me, that kind of gave me that extra strength that I needed. If you are in an unhappy marriage and that’s what you decide to do you should do it with a lot of dignity, self-respect. Don’t let anybody tell you that you are any less of a woman.” (You May Also Like: Unseen Video From Neeti Mohan-Nihaar Pandya's Sangeet, Ayushmann-Aparshakti Hold The Stage)

When Kareena quizzed her best friend, if she thinks that divorced women and men are often treated differently, Malaika agreed. She expressed her feelings, and said, “It’s the biggest disparity there is among all the other disparities there are which women have to face. And I'm not going to sit down and do man-bashing but yes, it is very easy for a man to move on in his life. It’s never easy. As humans, we start to blame other people. But for me, happiness is the most important. Arbaaz and I weighed pros and cons, we thought about a lot of things and then arrived at that decision. We just realised we’ll be better people because together we were just making each other and everybody around us really unhappy.” Malaika also opened about diving into the dating pool again and gave sound advice to many out there. She said, “It’s not impossible." "Swipe left, right, whatever it might be! Have fun! For the first time in your life, you will also discover a kind of freedom. To be in a bed all alone is also a new feeling!”
For those who don’t know, Malaika has been making the headlines owing to her current relationship status with her rumoured boyfriend, Arjun Kapoor. Their dating rumour started making rounds when a picture of them sitting together as a couple from Lakme Fashion Week 2018, went viral on the internet. The media mills were sure that they will soon make it official but it never happened. From holding hands on the sets to taking a mini birthday trip, the two kept playing hide and seek with the media and fans. And, while we all know the truth, looks like we have to wait for a little before the cat gets out of the bag.
