Pakistani activist, Malala Yousafzai is known for human rights advocacy, especially for the education of women and children. She had fought for the education of women in Swat Valley, Pakistan, where the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan had banned girls from attending school. She is a Nobel Peace Prize laureate and has been working for the betterment of women for years now. In the recent turn of events, Malala got married to Asser Malik and the world is celebrating her marriage.
For the unversed, on October 9, 2012, after taking an exam, while on a bus in the Swat District of Pakistan, Malala along with two girls were shot by a Tehrik-I Taliban Pakistan gunman in an attempt to retaliate her activism. The bullet had hit Malala in the head, getting her into a critical situation. Later, she was taken to Birmingham, UK, where her condition improved. This got her international support, making her the voice of women across the globe.

A few hours back, Malala Yousafzai shared a series of pictures from her intimate nikaah ceremony with manager for the Pakistan Cricket Board, Asser Malik. While some pictures were from their post-wedding photoshoot, some were from her nikaah ceremony. Sharing the pictures, Malala tweeted:
"Today marks a precious day in my life. Asser and I tied the knot to be partners for life. We celebrated a small nikkah ceremony at home in Birmingham with our families. Please send us your prayers. We are excited to walk together for the journey ahead."

For her wedding, Malala opted for a subtle pink salwar suit embroidered with golden zari at the hemline with her head covered with her dupatta. She completed her look with nude tone makeup and a mang teeka. On the other hand, her groom, Asser wore a black suit. Their wedding pictures and videos have taken the Internet by storm. Check out!

Their photographer, Malin Fezehai shared a few pictures and videos from their post-wedding shoot and penned a long note on her IG handle. Sharing how she used to follow Malala’s work and never thought that she will be photographing her wedding, Malin wrote:
“Together with the rest of the world, I began following @malala story nearly a decade ago, after her harrowing defense of women and girls' education and seeing her become the youngest Nobel Peace Prize winner in history. Never in my wildest dreams did I think our paths would cross and I would be photographing her wedding.”
Sharing that she has been a part of Malala’s fund and campaigns for the past six years and feels proud to be a part of her wedding, Malin concluded:
“For the past 6 years, I've been working with the @malalafund , traveling across the world with the fund she established to expand her mission of girls' secondary education worldwide. So today, it is my absolute honor to be here in Birmingham, at an intimate gathering of family and friends, celebrating Malala and Asser's union.”
As soon as Malala Yousafzai announced her wedding, her social media platforms got flooded with congratulatory messages from across the globe. Priyanka Chopra took to her IG stories and wished Malala on the beginning of the new chapter in her life. She wrote, "Congratulations @malala Wishing you so much joy and happiness...You are an absolute vision." Canadian vlogger and talk show host, Lilly Singh, Hollywood star, Reese Witherspoon, Climate change activist, Greta Thunberg, Bollywood actress, Katrina Kaif and others congratulated the couple.
