Mandira Bedi, a force to be reckoned with in the entertainment industry, has made her mark with her acting prowess, hosting skills, and fashion designing. Her dedication to fitness and her captivating television presence has earned her a special place in the hearts of her fans. She is most notably recognised for her role as a host in some of the most memorable shows and events, including the ICC Cricket World Cup since 2003. On the personal front, Mandira is a mother of a boy and an adopted girl. However, tragedy struck her happy family in 2021 when her husband, Raj Kaushal, suddenly passed away due to a fatal heart attack.
Mandira recently sat for an interview with Humans Of Bombay, where she talked about the difficulties she faced after her husband, Raj Kaushal's death. The diva revealed that she thinks of him every day, but she has to navigate life for her children. The first year was the most challenging part, where every milestone, such as birthdays, anniversaries, and festivals, reminded her and her family of Raj. In Mandira's words:
"The only way out is through. Of course, my children and I think of him every day. It's not like we've forgotten him. The first year was very, very, very, very hard. The first of everything is just impossible to deal with. The first birthday, the first anniversary, the first Diwali, the first Christmas, the first New Year. The second one is a little bit easier, the third one is a little bit easier."

Mandira said that with time, she had learnt to adjust to the grief, but it was not an easy journey. Every once in a while, she would see or hear something that would remind her of Raj. She sought therapy, and the work is still in progress, but now she is much stronger and would not break down as she did in the initial year. Mandira added that just two months after her husband's death, she started working to support her family, and she planned to become more stable for them. Mandira further said:
"There are moments when we remember him because of a song. I've done the therapy I've needed to, there are times I still do it. As human beings, we are always a work in progress… What I can do now is talk about it. It makes me emotional, but I can. There was a time I couldn't. But I won't break down… I started working two months after it happened… I have to support my family and myself. I need to do it for my children."
Mandira added that she will always grieve the loss of her husband, but as of now, she has dealt with most of it. However, she can't listen to Kishore Kumar songs as they remind her of Raj. In her words:
"I've dealt with the bulk of it, but for the rest of my life, I'll always grieve him. One thing I still can't do is that I can't listen to Kishore Kumar's music."

It took them three dates to be certain that they were made for each other. The couple married on February 14, 1999, after dating for three years. After 12 years of marriage, Mandira Bedi and Raj Kaushal were blessed with a baby boy, Vir Kaushal.
