Mandira Bedi is going through an emotional turmoil after the death of her filmmaker husband, Raj Kaushal. Gathering pieces of her broken heart and fighting back her tears, Mandira is doing everything to fulfil both the roles of a father and mother to her kids, Vir Kaushal and Tara Bedi Kaushal.
For the unversed, Mandira Bedi's husband, Raj Kaushal had passed away on June 30, 2021, after suffering a cardiac arrest. It was Mandira, who had broken the gender stereotype by performing the last rites of Raj. After embracing parenthood in 2011, with the arrival of their son, Vir, Raj and Mandira had adopted a baby girl, Tara on July 28, 2020.

In 2018, Mandira and Raj had applied for adoption at the CARA (Central Adoption Resource Authority), the central adoption agency under which all adoptions across the country take place. It was on the occasion of Dussehra 2020 when Mandira had announced the news of welcoming a baby girl into their lives.

Sharing a beautiful family picture with Tara in the frame, Mandira had written, "She has come to us. Like a blessing from above. Our little girl, Tara. Four years and a bit with eyes that sparkle like stars. Sister to her Vir. Welcoming her home with open arms and pure love. Grateful, thankful. Blessed. Tara Bedi Kaushal became a part of our family on 28th July 2020."
A few days back, some trollers had targeted Tara, calling her a ‘street kid’ from a ‘slumdog centre’ which had irked Mandira. The hands-on mommy had made sure to shut the trolls by hitting back at them. In an interview with The Times of India, Mandira had talked about trollers and had said, “I have faced trolling from the time I have been on social media. Initially, I used to respond to negative comments, but I realised I was giving these haters what they were seeking — attention.”
On April 14, 2021, Mandira had taken to her IG stories and had posted a screenshot of the comment by one of the users on her family picture, in which he had written, “Madam from which slumdog centre did you adopt your prop daughter?” Mandira had bashed the troller and had responded, “People like this need to be given a special mention @bollywoodforevaa. You got my attention, you piece of s**t.”
