Moving forward in the conversation, Maninee stated that it was a very tough journey to cope up post being abused, and not a small wound which was healed in a stipulated time. She expressed how as a result of that episode, she became a therapist later on in life, so that she could help others, especially children, who might have faced such a peril. In her words:
“Bahut mushkil tha. I am not going to deny. And I am not going to make it lighter by saying nahi, nahi. It is like a wound. Bahut healing process se guzri hu mai. Lekin kahi na kahi vo ek jo wound hota hai na usko bada waqt lagta hai bharne mein. And that is the reason I became a therapist ki jo mere saath hua vo kisi aur ke saath na ho aur agar unfortunately ho toh I should be there to heal that child.”
Speaking along the same lines, Maninee recalled how her parents had reacted to such a news, when she told them about it later on. The diva revealed that they just blankly stared at her in disbelieve, since they thought it might be a child’s wild imagination. Maninee shared that her parents initially thought that she made up the whole tale just for the sake of seeking attention.

I just pray to the lord…He is in a pretty bad physical condition, completely paralysed I hear. So, there is karma in this world.”
