There have often been rumours that actresses in the 90s had conflicts and intense competition among them. In her appearance on In The Ring With Filmfare, Manisha accepted that she had 'cat fights' with other actresses of that era but didn't name any particular actress. Manisha further revealed that she soon realised such fights were of no use. Manisha was quoted as saying:
"There was a time when we did fight. We did say things (to each other). But after maturing up, we realised we were involved in something that did not help anyone."

In the interview, Manisha quickly shared the possible reason for feud between actresses. The Heeramandi actress feels that the unnecessary 'cat fights' took place because actresses were young and not much confident about themselves. In her words:
"Nobody looked better. Nobody felt better. It was such a not-so-required zone. But we were all young. We never really faced the world. I was just out of school. Likewise, for many of my colleagues back then."
In her interview with Filmfare, Manisha continued saying that she did develop friendships with her contemporaries from the 90s decade. She has become friends with Raveena Tandon and Pooja Bhatt. Despite Manisha not taking the names of any actress, the media reported that she had a rift with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. In addition, Manisha had accepted that she rejected a film with Madhuri Dixit due to her 'insecurity' but later made up for it.
