Manisha Koirala is undoubtedly one of the most iconic and evergreen actresses, ruling the film world undisputedly even today. The actress continues to captivate zillions of fans with her charming personality, breathtaking looks and whatnot. Manisha has been one of the first pan-Indian actresses back in the days, who simultaneously delivered blockbusters both in the Hindi as well as Southern regional language films. Recently, she left everyone’s jaws dropped with her stellar performance in the series, Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar.
In a recent interview with Filmfare, Manisha Koirala revealed how quite early in her career, she made a clear list of terms which she would abide by to make her way in films. The actress then narrated an incident when she was asked to wear a bikini for one of her photoshoots with a leading photographer. Having been staunch in her principles, Manisha was quick to affirm how she didn’t want to wear it for the sake of work. Adding how she reasoned out plainly about her restrictions, Manisha said:

“Very early on in my career I was asked to go and take photographs, and there was this very famous photographer. I went with my mom, and initially, that photographer said things like, ‘You are the next superstar and this and that.’ Cut to him bringing a two-piece bikini to me and asking me to wear it. I told him, ‘Sir, I wear this when I go to the beach or for a swim, but if this is the way I have to get into the movies, I don’t want it, and I am not wearing that.'”

Continuing with her line of thoughts, Manisha Koirala went on to narrate the photographer’s response to her reserved inhibitions. In her words:
“I told him either you shoot me fully clothed otherwise I am… ‘ I remember he gave me a big dialogue. He said, ‘Jo mitti pighalne se sharmati ho uske murti kaise banaye’. I have not forgotten that.”
Earlier, during a conversation with Pinkvilla, Manisha Koirala shared an unheard anecdote from her career, as she recalled being labelled as a bad actor by one of the leading filmmakers. The diva remembered the time when she was doing the first reading of the script of her film, 1942: A Love Story, when Vidhu Vinod Chopra blatantly remarked her as a bad actor based on the way she did her lines. However, Manisha made it a point to prove him wrong, and after practicing her lines again and again back home, she nailed her performance within 24 hours.
