Mannara Chopra is a force to be reckoned with in the current times. The beauty debuted in the entertainment industry in 2014 with the film, Prema Geema Jantha Na but gained global fame after her stint in Bigg Boss 17. Though the actress has been in the industry for almost a decade, she got the fame she deserved via the reality show. However, the diva in an interview revealed that she was the first choice for the 'Fair And Lovely' ad, but the makers sent her back from the set after a mishap.
Yami Gautam ruled the hearts of many with her iconic Fair And Lovely advertisement. For the unversed, Fair And Lovely was a fairness crème whose name was later altered to Glow And Lovely. In an interview, Mannara shared that the Fair And Lovely ad was her dream project, and she was finalised for it too. But, as she reached the sets for the shoot, all of a sudden, she started breaking out into pimples. Her forehead was covered with pimples, and she was sent back from the sets right before the shoot began.

Mannara Chopra further said that she was extremely excited about the ad but it didn't shape out in her favour. She added that she feels that she is the perfect person for the ad as she is fair and lovely too!

As soon as the video was circulated on the web, netizens pointed out that Yami Gautam was the best fit for the ad. Some even highlighted that Mannara is constantly blowing her own whistle and comes out to be a narcissist. When Mannara Chopra debuted in the industry in 2014, her name was Barbie Hnada, but the actress later changed it to Mannara Chopra. In an old interview, Mannara divulged that during the unofficial screening of her first film, Prema Geema Jantha, her cousin sister, Priyanka Chopra suggested her to change her name. As the name, 'Barbie' doesn't fit well with the 'interiors of the country'. Mannara further added:
"The name, Barbie, doesn't gel well with probably the interiors of our country. People will not connect to the name."
