Manoj Bajpayee is one of the most talented actors of his generation. With his film career spanning across a vibrant three decades, he has been a part of some incredible films like Satyagraha, Aarakshan, Zubeidaa, Sarkar 3, Pinjar, Veer Zara, among others. Manoj has been a recipient of three national awards, and countless other national and international accolades for his immense contribution to the film industry. In his personal life, Manoj is married to former actress, Shabana Raza and the duo are parents to their daughter, Ava Nayla.
In a recent interview with Curly Tales, the splendid actor, Manoj Bajpayee opened up about his retirement plans. Spilling the beans about the kind of life he wishes to have post-retirement, Manoj primarily highlighted how he would like to quit the hustle-bustle of the city of Mumbai and settle down somewhere peaceful in the mountains. He also elucidated that Mumbai will be the city for her daughter once she grows up, but not for him. Moreover, he mentioned that he does not look forward to build a lavish mansion on the hillside, and instead would be comfortable with a small, humble dwelling. In his words:

“I want to move to the mountains. I have already taken a place somewhere. I want to make a small house somewhere, no mansion for me. I don't want to spend my old age here. Mumbai will be a city for my daughter and not me.”

In the same interview, Manoj Bajpayee cleared the air about the often circulated rumours of him being jealous of the success his popular contemporary actor, late Irrfan Khan made. He responded that he and Irrfan never knew one another properly, despite having worked in almost the same decades. Therefore, he clarified that the question of envy did not arrive for someone he was not familiar with.
In one of his earlier interviews with YouTuber, Janice Sequeira, Manoj Bajpayee recalled the harshest yet truthful critique he had ever heard from his wife, Shabana Raza. He mentioned one incident where his wife had gone to watch a film of his in the cinema hall, but was rendered ashamed when she overheard a few women making fun of him. As a result, she immediately called him and asked him to stop working in bad films just for the sake of money.

Throughout his entire filmography, Manoj Bajpayee has worked on some highly acclaimed films, which had controversial topics as the plot line. Needless to say, Manoj has aced portraying pivotal roles in such kinds of films and has never fretted out from working on the same. Speaking about the same in an earlier interview with Pinkvilla, Manoj expressed his views about working on controversial films. He had mentioned:
“When there's a story and there's a script, if it moves you emotionally, if it shakes up your conscience, and if there is an opportunity for you to just attach yourself with this project, and be part of a great end up.”
