The Greta Gerwig-directed movie, Barbie, initially roped in Amy Schumer for the titular role. But she later dropped out over creative issues. It was announced in January 2019 that Margot Robbie would play the iconic ‘Barbie’ role, while Ryan Gosling joined the cast in October 2021 as ‘Barbie's plastic partner, ‘Ken’.
The movie, Barbie, has been veiled in some secrecy. Warner Bros has issued promotional photos featuring Margot and Ryan dressed as their characters, but the plot has been kept a closely-guarded secret.
This Friday, July 21, will be historic as Greta Gerwig’s Barbie and Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer is all set to be released on the same day. There has been quite a buzz regarding both films on social media. While a specific segment of people are fans of Christopher’s movies, others are eagerly waiting to witness the twist in the fantasy film, Barbie.
