Adnan Sami needs no introduction as he has successfully made a name for himself in the Indian music industry. However, not many people know that Adnan was born and raised in London and because of his interest in music, he went to Pakistan and began his music program on a Pakistani channel.
The man behind some of the most foot-tapping and soulful songs like Lift Kara De, Aye Udi Udi Udi, Bhar Do Jholi Meri, Tera Chehra and many more got married to Pakistani actress, Zeba Bakhtiar in 1993. The couple welcomed a son and named him, Azaan Sami Khan. After three years of marital bliss, Adnan and Zeba got divorced, and the custody of Azaan went to Zeba, who raised him single-handedly.

Despite spending some time in India, Azaan chose Pakistan as his home. In an interview with BBC, Azaan revealed why he prefers to call Pakistan his home, despite spending time in India and said:
“I have amazing friends there (in India). I have lived a lot of my life there - my teen years particularly, but Pakistan is my home. I have grown up there but I feel like the industry in Pakistan is my family. There is immense pride for me, and hope and ambition, that I contribute to an industry which I call home.”

Just like his father, Azaan ventured into the music industry and made his debut album, Main Tera, for which he collaborated with singer, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. His debut album received huge applause, and he later released the single, Tu, which featured actress, Mahira Khan.
After the success of Main Tera, Azaan spoke about his feelings in an interview with Pinkvilla. The young singer stated that he felt overwhelmed with the tremendous response as he grew up in a household, where music played a vital role. Azaan also stated that he hoped people to like his album, but when people showered him with so much love, it was a surreal feeling.
In the same interview, Azaan was quipped about his parents, Adnan and Zeba’s reaction to his debut album and the singer stated that they are not easy people to satisfy. In his words:
“They are very critical in a very good way. They want me to do the best I can, so they make sure to have that pressure which is good. They are not easy to satisfy. With my parents being from the entertainment industry, they have worked with some great people, they are definitely not easy people to satisfy.”
Azaan Sami Khan is also hailed for his good looks. In 2021, Azaan made his acting debut in the Pakistani television drama, Ishq E Laa, produced by Momina Duraid. In the show, Azaan was cast alongside Sajal Aly and Yumza Zaidi. His performance in the show garnered a lot of love and attention, and Azaan was nominated for Best TV Actor Male at the Lux Style Awards.

After Adnan Sami’s separation from Zeba Bakhtiar, the custody of Azaan was given to his mother, Zeba, who raised him single-handedly. In an interview with BBC Asian Network, when Azaan was asked about his relationship with his father, Adnan, he stated:
“We’ve had a very tested relationship; I grew up with my mother so him and I, we’re more like friends. He’s someone I’d go to for advice. And it’s a very interesting relationship because we may not speak at times for months but when we do, we just get each other.”
Despite the tremendous success of his debut album, Azaan is quite vocal about the privileges he got as a star kid. In a conversation with Nida Yasir on her show, Shan e Shahoor, Azaan talked about the criticism that celeb kids receive based on their connection rather than talent and stated that it majorly depends on their upbringing.
Talking about the benefits he received, Azaan quoted an example and stated:
“There are a lot of benefits. If today I sit here and say that there a lot of struggles then that would be wrong. It depends on your upbringing whether you exploit those benefits or not. The biggest advantage that I see is, for example if I wanted to become a host then I could meet one of the best hosts in Pakistan like you. My mother would have called you and said Azaan wants to learn from you, can he come and observe and assist you? There is that accessibility.”
Azaan Sami Khan has not just got the good looks of his parents, Adnan Sami and Zeba Bakhtiar, but the celeb kid has also got his parents’ immense talent and knows how to climb the ladder of success.
