Gurfateh Singh Pirzada is a name that is gaining a lot of attention currently. The handsome actor was recently seen in the series, Call Me Bae. The actor is no doubt one of the most good-looking men in the industry and has done some tremendous work in a short span of time.

Gurfateh also hogs the limelight for his striking resemblance to Bollywood actor, Vicky Kaushal. He began his acting career in 2018 with the film, Friends in Law and was later seen in the romantic film, Hum Bhi Akele Tum Bhi Akele and Netflix’s thriller, Guilty. In 2023, the teen drama, Class also got him a lot of limelight.

Born into a Sikh family in Chandigarh, Gurfateh’s father was an agriculturist, and his mother was a housewife. Gurfateh’s sister, Mehreen Pirzada is also an actress and was seen in many Telugu, Punjabi and Kannada films. She made her Hindi film debut with the film, Philauri.

He studied at Pathways World School with an International Baccalaureate Diploma. Gurfateh later went to Shobit University in Meerut and also earned a Diploma in Method Acting from The Jeff Goldberg Studio, Mumbai.

Gurfateh Singh Pirzada began his career at 17

Initially, Gurfateh wanted to become a cricketer and had even played cricket at district level. However, later, he decided to pursue acting and began his career as a model at the age of 17, and appeared in various advertisements and ramp shows.

Though Gurfateh began his acting career with the film, Friends In Law, it was his role as ‘Vijay Pratap Singh’ in Kiara Advani starrer, Guilty, which got him widespread recognition. He was also seen in Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva, playing the character of 'Sher'. Gurfateh’s recent release Call Me Bae will see him in a titular role opposite Ananya Panday.

When Gurfateh Pirzada made his Bollywood debut, he was compared to Vicky Kaushal because of their striking resemblance. From similar facial expressions to style and complexion, Gurfateh Singh undoubtedly can confuse anyone as Vicky and his height too is similar to that of the actor. One look at his social media handle and the pictures posted by the actor makes one believe that he is the doppelganger of Vicky.

Gurfateh Pirzada has seen many lows in his life. In an interview with Hindustan Times, the actor spoke about his difficult time when he moved to Canada to get admission in college. Talking about the same, Gurfateh revealed how his life hit him after school, and he realized he had no money to afford college fees.

The actor moved to Canada and lived in a tiny basement of someone’s home with his mother and sister. His mother and sister worked for 18 hours but still couldn’t get enough money. Gurfateh thought he, too, would join them and would manage to get some money.

When Gurfateh landed in Canada, he did all the odd jobs and worked illegally in Canada since he had no work permit. Recalling his time cleaning bathrooms and clearing garbage, the actor opened up about his struggle and said:

“I got myself a job, mind you, this was working illegally, I had no work permit. If we were caught we were gone. I did whatever I got, cleaning in a grocery shop or setting up the shelves, cutting meat in a meat shop, clearing garbage every night, making pizzas, and cleaning bathrooms. I did all these things for about 4-5 months until my visa was about to end. Then we decided to quit our jobs and booked our flight to India.”

Gurfateh Singh Pirzada never had it easy, and despite the endless struggle, he never lost hope. He not only managed to pursue his dream but also took his family out from the difficult phase.
