Many of our favourite celebrities tend to keep their wedding a private affair. Some marry in a hush-hush manner, and some marry without letting anyone know, and a few years later, they drop in the sweet surprise publicly. Such is also the case with Kaliyon Ka Chaman song fame actress and model, Meghna Naidu. It was yesterday, on April 11, 2019, that Meghna Naidu shared with the world that she is a married woman for the past 2 years. Meghna Naidu got married to her Portuguese tennis player boyfriend, Luis Miguel Reis on December 25, 2016. Earlier, they had dated for almost 6 years. Meghna Naidu broke the news by sharing the following picture on her Instagram handle which was a newspaper snap of her interview. She captioned the post as, "And here is the big news. For all those who knew about our wedding, Thank you for respecting our privacy... And for all those who dont know or had a doubt here is some news for you !!! I couldn't have asked for a better life partner, best friend, soul mate, Luis Miguel Reis."
Her post could further be read as, "I am blessed to have you in my life and Thank you for making this beautiful journey of almost 8 years so amazing !!! Thank you to our lovely families for being so wonderful to us and for believing in our love and for all the love you'll continue to shower upon us !!! @elitetennisdubai I Love You. #marriage#husband#marriedlife#marriage news#marriedwoman."
And now, Meghna Naidu has shared her first bridal picture from her secret wedding which took place 2 years ago. It seems like the pic, along with her husband, Luis, is from the mandap of their wedding, as Meghna is in her bridal avatar. She has captioned the following pic as, "Miss you kuks @elitetennisdubai #wedding#indianbride#indianportugal#indianweddingportugal#weddingdays#brideandgroom, along with many heart emojis"
Meghna Naidu gave an interview to the Bombay Times and opened up about her wedding and her now-hubby, Luis. She was quoted as saying, "Luis and I were happily enjoying the ‘no-attention’ phase after marriage. We didn’t feel anything was amiss as long as my family and friends knew about it. Also, I am not a huge fan of big weddings, as I feel the bride and groom feel lost at such events. I always felt that special occasions need to be celebrated with special people. My wedding happened exactly the way I had dreamed."

Commenting on why did she take so long to break the news of her secret wedding, Meghna said, "It’s only recently that I told Luis that I would like to make it official. He said, ‘What’s stopping you?’. So, here I am announcing it finally." (Also Read: Twinkle Khanna-Akshay Kumar Teasing Each Other In Recent Interview Proves They're Happy-Go-Lucky)
Meghna Naidu recalled an incident when it was her mother who had insisted that her daughter and Luis should get married. Meghna retorted, "Luis asked my mother what she wanted for her birthday gift. She told us, ‘It’s time you guys got married’. It was so random that I didn’t even get the time to do my shopping or apply mehndi. It was like chat mangni pat byah. We went to an Aiyappa temple and got married according to Hindu rituals. We also plan to have a Church wedding, some time next year. We have all the time to plan a Christian wedding."
Further elaborating more on their love story, Meghna added, "I was introduced to Luis by my father, who has been a tennis coach. We dated briefly, but then grew apart and lost touch. He is 10 years older than me and he must have thought that I was too young and maybe, unsure about the relationship. He reconnected with me on social media eight years ago and we got together again. My parents were extremely happy when I told them that I am dating Luis. The first thing they said was that he is a great guy."
What brought Meghna Naidu and Luis Miguel Reis close to each other? Meghna shared with the Bombay Times, "We play the same sport (Tennis) and I feel a strong ‘tennis’ connection with him. We also share a passion for travelling. I am constantly shuttling between Mumbai, Portugal and Dubai, where Luis runs his tennis academy. I have been working less because I am not in Mumbai all the time. I can say that our honeymoon is still continuing (smiles)."
