Bengali film actress, Nusrat Jahan had proved her mettle of acting a long time back through her debut film, Shotru. Apart from her impeccable performances in Tollywood, the actress had taken a big step in getting closer to the people. When she had contested for the elections from the Basirhat constituency on behalf of the All India Trinamool Congress. However, besides her fantastic career, her love life and trouble in marriage have made it to the headlines time and again.
A few months back, Nusrat Jahan's marital life was under the media glare when reports of her split from her entrepreneur husband, Nikhil Jain, were doing the rounds. Adding to that, her closeness to her co-star, Yash Dasgupta, was considered the reason behind her separation from Nikhil. And then came the shocking news of her pregnancy, whereas her husband had claimed that they had been staying apart for more than six months.
In 2019, Nusrat Jahan had made it to the headlines when rumours of her divorce from her Jamshedpur-based childhood friend, Victor Ghosh, were rife in the media. However, Nusrat never accepted her relationship or marriage to him, and there are hardly any photos of them together. A few reports in the media also stated that Nusrat also had to pay a huge compensation for this divorce as her ex-husband had demanded a large amount.
Though Nusrat Jahan had refuted the rumours of her marriage and divorce, a report in The Times Of India had stated that a source close to them had revealed that she had kept her marriage under wraps due to professional reasons. The source had said, "They are a married couple. Because of professional and personal reasons, Nusrat does not admit her marriage openly, but all her close friends know about this. She even has a tattoo of Victor’s name inked on her chest.”
Nusrat Jahan's ex-boyfriend, Kadir Khan, was one of the prime accused in the heinous Park Street gang-rape case in 2012. The duo had been in a relationship for four years and had met through friends in college and had eventually got into a relationship. However, Kadir's alleged involvement in the case had proved as a turning point in their relationship. In an interview with The Times Of India in 2012, Nusrat had opened up on how she had felt after knowing that Kadir was the prime accused in the case.

Stating the same, she had told the publication:
I don't want it to turn into a political issue or a Nusrat-Kadir love story. And why involve Tollywood? I didn't fall in love knowing that the guy would be called a rapist! The questions that I'm facing now seems like I'm being raped mentally. I even told my family he was the right guy for me.
Nusrat Jahan had met Nikhil Jain at a propelling store in the Gariahat area of Kolkata. Back then, Nikhil was searching for a top model, and his promotion group had come up with Nusrat's name as a suggestion. After their first meeting, Nikhil was really impressed by her personality and wanted to know her more, and thereby, he had approached her for a date. Though Nusrat had agreed upon a coffee date, it could not materialise as Nusrat's mother was not keeping well.
However, the duo had been on a date after their third photoshoot and had started knowing each other. Inevitably, they began dating and became hopelessly enamoured with one another. It was on Nikhil's birthday that he had popped the million-dollar question to Nusrat and she had complied with a 'Yes'. The duo had tied the knot on June 19, 2019, in Turkey’s Bodrum in a private wedding ceremony joined by their loved ones.

Nusrat Jahan had hit the headlines when she had entered the parliament while flaunting her sindoor, mehendi and mangalsutra and had exuded a new bride glow. Her marriage was the talk of the town and no one ever imagined that the marriage would end up this way. After one-and-a-half-year of their marital life, reports of separation between Nusrat and Nikhil were doing the round in the media. However, after staying quiet for some time, the actress had broken her silence and had claimed that her marriage had stood null and void as it had taken place on foreign land.
In a statement issued by her, Nusrat Jahan had said:
Being on foreign land, as per Turkish Marriage Regulation, the ceremony is invalid. Moreover, since it was an interfaith marriage, it requires validation under the Special Marriage Act in India, which did not happen. As per the court of law, it is not a Marriage, but a relationship or a live-in relationship. Thus, the question of divorce does not arise.” She went on to allege that their separation happened long back, but she did not speak about it as she intended to keep her private life to herself.
Nusrat Jahan had also accused Nikhil Jain of mishandling her accounts and taking her money without her knowledge. However, after her 'invalid marriage' remark, Nikhil had issued a letter and had asserted that they had lived together as ‘husband and wife’ but despite his ‘best of efforts’, her attitude towards him and the marriage had changed within a year. He had also revealed that on November 5, 2020, she had left Nikhil’s flat with bag and baggage along with her personal values, papers and documents and shifted to her Ballygunge flat and they had never stayed together, though still being husband-wife.
For the past few months, Nusrat Jahan had been hitting the headlines not only for her tumultuous relationship with her estranged husband, Nikhil Jain but also for the speculation around her pregnancy. However, amid all that, Nusrat's closeness with actor and BJP politician Yash Dasgupta had sparked off rumours of their relationship. In fact, reports were rife that Nusrat's split with her estranged husband, Nikhil Jain was due to a blossoming romance between Nusrat and Yash Dasgupta.
Amid reports of her tumultuous relationship with her estranged husband, Nikhil Jain, and her alleged relationship with her co-star, Yash Dasgupta, reports of her pregnancy were also doing the rounds in the media. However, an inside picture from a party had gone viral a few months back as she had posed for the camera with Bengali film actresses, Shrabanti Chatterjee and Tanushree Chakraborty and in the picture, her baby bump was clearly visible.
In between her pregnancy rumours, what had added fuel to the controversy was Nikhil Jain's statement, 'The child is not mine.' In an interview with the Bengali news channel, ABP Ananda, Nikhil had revealed that he was not aware of his wife's pregnancy. Nikhil reportedly maintained that the child isn't his because they hadn't been in contact for months.
On June 20, 2021, Nusrat Jahan had herself confirmed her pregnancy when she had posted a series of pictures cradling her baby bump. Alongside the pictures, she had written, "Kindness changes everything."
According to a report in the PTI, Nusrat embraced motherhood with the arrival of her baby boy on August 26, 2021. A source revealed that the actress was admitted to a hospital in Park Street, Kolkata. She gave birth to her first child at 12:20 pm. Both the mother and baby are doing fine. Nusrat's estranged husband, Nikhil Jain, also gave his blessings for his newborn baby. He said that there might be differences between the couple, but he wishes all the best for the mother-son duo. He said, "I wish the baby boy has a bright future."
