Mika Singh Says Karan Singh Grover-Bipasha Basu Refused To Kiss On-Screen, 'Husband And Wife Yet...'

Mika Singh's groovy tracks are the first thing that comes to mind whenever the artist's name is mentioned. However, not everyone might recall the series he produced in 2020, Dangerous. The series was Mika's first project as a producer. As such, the singer wanted to play things safe, so he opted for a script written by Raaz filmmaker, Vikram Bhatt and his entire team. Mika cast Karan Singh Grover as the male lead to keep the budget in line. The singer wanted to launch a fresh face as the female lead, but Karan's wife and actress, Bipashu Basu insisted on playing the part. Initially, Mika thought he found the perfect pairing. However, he recently opened up about the project being such a nightmare that he decided never to produce a film or series again.

Mika Singh reveals Karan Singh Grover and Bipasha Basu wanted different hotel rooms despite being married

Mika Singh recently appeared on the podcast, KADAK, during which he opened up about his terrible experience working on the series, Dangerous with Karan Singh Grover and Bipasha Basu. According to the singer, the former had been cast, while the latter insisted on doing the series herself. Despite the fact that the couple agreed to the series in the designated budget, Mika termed the experience as 'horrible.'

Mika further elaborated on the couple's tantrums during the shooting that extended a three-month filming schedule to six months. Not only that, it also resulted in a lot of his own money being wasted. Mika recounted:

"I took a team of 50 to London for a month long schedule. However, it extended to two months. Karan and Bipasha created a lot of drama. They were a married couple so I booked a single room for them. But, they were like, 'No, we need our separate rooms.' I didn't understand the logic. They then demanded to shift to a different hotel. We did that as well."

Mika elaborated on the other drama on the set, including Karan fracturing his leg during a stunt scene. According to the singer, Bipasha and Karan even caused problems while dubbing the film, stating that they had sore throats and other issues. Mika was still baffled by why they were so unwilling to work when they were getting paid.

"They are husband and wife and yet they created drama around kissing each other on screen. These stars fall on the feet of big producers like Dharma Productions and Yash Raj Films and keep praising them for even the tiniest roles, but their attitude changes when it comes to smaller producers. Aren't these producers also spending money? I have now decided to never produce a film and I advise the same to others. And if at all they consider to make films, please give an opportunity to newcomers."

Mika Singh said Akshay Kumar and Salman Khan warned him against producing the series

During the podcast, Mika Singh also opened up about Akshay Kumar and Salman Khan's well-intended advice to him against producing the film. The singer revealed that the former had asked him why he wanted 'to go knocking at the vans of actors reminding them their shot is ready' after achieving so much in life. Akshay even warned Mika against using his own money, saying he would lose it all. Recalling Salman's advice to him, Mika said:

"Salman said, 'It is okay if you want to produce a film, but at least star in it. You are more famous than the people you have cast in your film.' But, I didn't listen to him either. I just wanted to remain a producer and give good music to the film. I put so much money and the series didn't work. Now, I regret not starring in my own project. At least, I would have made the songs work if not anything else."
