Pyaar Toh Ho Jayega, Pehle Shaadi Kar Lo… Shahid Kapoor and Mira Rajput Kapoor are the poster couple for arrange marriages, who took the plunge after knowing each other for just a few months in an arranged marriage set-up. A mushy Koffee With Karan appearance, drool-worthy family vacay pictures, problematic advocation of stay-at-home moms and two children, Misha Kapoor and Zain Kapoor later, Shahid and Mira are still going social media strong. There's no escaping these two. (Also Read: Mira Rajput Kapoor Shares Misha Kapoor And Zain Kapoor's First Picture Playing Together)
Unlike other Bollywood personalities, who were busy hopping Diwali parties for the last week or so, Shahid and Mira decided to spend some quality time with family. Since it was their second child, Zain Kapoor’s first Diwali, Shahid and Mira kept the celebrations low-key with just family in attendance, including Ishaan Khatter and Neelima Azeem. Mira gave their fans a glimpse of the Diwali decoration at their house, and captioned it, "Home is where the heart is".
Shahid shared a picture with wife, Mira on his Instagram handle, and captioned it, “Happy Diwali everyone. Hope you spent it with those who matter most.” Also, Mira posted an intimate picture with Shahid on her Instagram handle and where the couple can be seen lost in a kiss which went with the caption “Only love Happy Diwali!” While Mira looked mesmerising in a baby pink-coloured salwar kurti with a vibrant dupatta, Shahid chose a white kurta for the occasion.
However, this picture of Shahid and Mira sharing a passionate kiss didn’t go down well with some netizens on social media, and the couple was mercilessly trolled for the same. People did not like Shahid and Mira sharing their private moment on an auspicious occasion like Diwali saying that the couple has forgotten the Indian culture. Some even compared Shahid and Mira with Anushka and Virat, who on the other hand posted a decent picture on Diwali to wish their fans. Checkout some screenshots of the trolls:

Mira shares a close bond with her brother-in-law, Ishaan Khatter and sharing a picture with him from Diwali celebrations, Mira wrote, “Nice to you today.” Ishaan too shared Mira and Shahid’s kiss picture as his Insta story. While everyone got a glimpse of B-town's most adorable couple, Shahid and Mira on Diwali, we were waiting to get a glimpse of their little angel, Misha Kapoor and newborn son, Zain Kapoor. Sharing a lovely picture of their 'sunshine', Mira wrote, "You are my sunshine, my only sunshine #oursong".
A few days before Diwali, Mira posted an Insta story giving us a glimpse of Zain’s first Diwali outfit by Shahid’s good friend and ace designer, Kunal Rawal. Sharing a picture of outfit number one - a wine colour Nehru coat with maroon kurta and outfit number two - a simple white kurta, Mira wrote, “Zainu’s Diwali outfits, Kunal Rawal Of course!” atop of it.
In August 2018, Mira made her debut in a TV commercial for Olay skincare products and unveiling it on social media, she wrote, “Being a mother doesn’t mean you stop being yourself right? I took the #Olay #SkinTransformation #28Daychallenge Here’s my #Reborn story.. what’s yours? @olayindia”. It was before Zain’s birth, so Mira can be seen glowing in her black dress and high heels, radiating her pregnancy glow and flaunting her baby bump. Her lovestruck hubby, Shahid commented on her post, “Who’s this stunner”.
But this commercial too made Mira the target of the trolls. While some people claimed that Mira is too young to do an anti-ageing cream advertisement, others expressed she should have not copied Kareena Kapoor Khan. One Insta user commented, “@shahidkapoor wanted to marry a normal girl who had nothing to do with the industry lol he married a wannabe who only wants to use his name and get ads and make Money..IRONY”, another said, “@shahidkapoor paisa khilaake ad karwayaa aur khud hi stunned bhi hogaye Kya?!!”. In an interview with Times Now, when Mira was asked to comment on the same, she retorted, “The internet is one platform that is accessible to everyone. People can say what they feel and it gives everyone the right to express themselves the way they want and to what extent they feel like. So, there will be opinions. It's not that everyone is going to love you. I have always spoken for myself and I have never shied away from expressing what I truly feel.” She went on to say, “It’s not something new for me. Nowadays, people receive backlash for whatever they do or say. It is the way the internet is. At some level, it is a bit sad.”
