It's not a new phenomenon when we see Bollywood celebrities getting trolled on social media unnecessarily on a daily basis. Be it for their fashion or career choices, celebrities are under most scrutiny online than when they are surrounded by the paparazzi. And just imagine, what if you are an outsider in the industry and have to handle all the trolling for your every post? Can't even think of it, right? But Mira Rajput Kapoor is one 'outsider' who never lets trolls affect her in the slightest degree. Shahid Kapoor's wife and mother to two munchkins- Misha and Zain, Mira Rajput Kapoor is definitely a media-friendly person but not so much when it comes to netizens. Be it her first commercial for TV or her colouring Misha's hair, Mira has been a subject of trolling all the time. And her latest public appearance was no different.
Mira Rajput Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor were recently in Delhi for the swearing-in ceremony of Narendra Modi to mak the start of his second term as the Prime Minister of India. While the pics and videos of this husband-wife duo from the ceremony itself went viral and was applauded, their return journey was something which didn't go well with their fans. After a tiring day, Mira Rajput Kapoor was spotted with Shahid Kapoor holding a Chanel bag. So far so good, right? But then someone noticed Mira holding her sandals in her hand and carrying it barefoot and hence, the trolling began!
A few jumped into the bandwagon to question why she isn't carrying an extra pair of shoes, while some criticised her being hungry for attention. Take a look at the filthy comments:

Mira Rajput Kapoor had unveiled her first ever TV commercial video for Olay skincare products on her Instagram handle last year, and had captioned it, “Being a mother doesn’t mean you stop being yourself right? I took the #Olay #SkinTransformation #28Daychallenge Here’s my #Reborn story. what’s yours? @olayindia”. And even then, she wasn't spared by the trolls. One Insta user had commented, “@shahidkapoor wanted to marry a normal girl who had nothing to do with the industry lol he married a wannabe who only wants to use his name and get ads and make Money..IRONY”, another had said, “@shahidkapoor paisa khilaake ad karwayaa aur khud hi stunned bhi hogaye Kya?!!”
Mira was also once criticised for not carrying her baby Zain in her arms and giving him to his nanny. Speaking of her children, Mira has always maintained her stance of balancing the responsibility of a child and her work. She had once said, “I love being at home, I love being a mother to my child, I wouldn’t have it any other way. I wouldn’t want to spend one hour a day with my child and rush off to work. Why did I have her? She is not a puppy, you know. I want to be there for her as a mother, seeing her grow up cannot be quantified.” (Suggested Read: Chhavi Mittal Says The First Child Should Not Be Ignored After The Arrival Of Second Baby)
Mira was once even compared to Shahid's ex, Kareena Kapoor Khan. And apparently, their contrasting statements on motherhood had generated lots of trolling for Mira online. Kareena had said in an interview, “Yes, I was on my feet a few days after the delivery, but it's upsetting to have people judge you for it. No one has the right to comment on how I conduct myself or what sort of a mother I am. Everyone seems to have an opinion. Postpartum depression is not a must, right? It's whimsical to generalise that every woman goes through that phase, almost making it sound like a norm. Every pregnancy and every mother's journey with her child during those nine months and afterwards is different.”
Mira Rajput Kapoor, along the similar lines, had shared in another interview, “I am a homemaker and I wear this label with pride. I had a tough pregnancy and I went through those difficult five months to bring my daughter into this world. And now I want to spend every moment I can with her. There is a set of responsibilities that are on my plate and I feel at my age I have a lot more energy. My future is ahead of me. I can finish all my responsibilities and then I will have nothing in my way.”
Coming back to the trolls that Mira face online, in an interview with the Times Now, Mira had spoken about the trolls targeting her every now and then and had shared, “The internet is one platform that is accessible to everyone. People can say what they feel and it gives everyone the right to express themselves the way they want and to what extent they feel like. So, there will be opinions. It's not that everyone is going to love you. I have always spoken for myself and I have never shied away from expressing what I truly feel.”
She had further added, “It’s not something new for me. Nowadays, people receive backlash for whatever they do or say. It is the way the internet is. At some level, it is a bit sad.” (Don't Miss: Barun Sobti Says He Will Be The Strictest Father To His Baby, Talks About Wife Pashmeen's Pregnancy)
