Television actors become an integral part of the lives of their audience, who begin to connect with them as a result of watching them almost every day. Moreover, as compared to the big film stars, these actors from the small screen tend to command a lot more fan base, whom the audience think to be more approachable. But there have been a few actors who have broken the hearts of millions of their fans with the sudden decision of leaving acting totally. Mohena Singh rose to fame with her stint in the popular television serial, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. Other than her acting chops, she is a fantastic dancer and has been trained in various dance forms. Moreover, she also belongs from the royal family of Rewa in Madhya Pradesh. Sadly, Mohena bid farewell to the acting world after her marriage with Suyyash Rawat in 2019, who also belongs to a royal family in Uttarakhand. Nevertheless, Mohena is an active social media user and posts frequent glimpses of her life through it. She is also a YouTuber and has her own channel where she posts dance videos as well as various updates from her day-to-day life. In 2022, Mohena welcomed her son, Ayansh into the world.

Disha Vakani a.k.a ‘Daya Ben’ from the popular sitcom, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma. She quickly became a household name as she won hearts with the portrayal of a true Gujarati woman. It was in 2017, when Disha took a break from acting as she was pregnant with her child. Ever since, she has not returned to the glamour world, leaving her fans entirely shocked by her sudden decision to quit acting.
Shraddha Nigam became a popular actress in the television world with her performance in Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki. But, it was her marriage with Karan Singh Grover which made her name spread far and wide. Unfortunately, after her divorce with Karan, she abruptly decided to end her acting career and stepped back. She did not sit idle back in her home and alternatively, entered into the world of fashion designing.

The famous ‘Rashi’ of Indian television, Rucha Hasabnis rose to fame with her iconic performance in the serial, Saath Nibhana Saathiya. She went on to mesmerise her fans with her performance until in 2015, she decided to give a break to her acting career after her marriage. She later gave birth to her children, Ruhi (2019) and Ronit (2022). Her sudden break from acting came as shocking news for her fans, who were not ready to let go of her talents so soon.

Mihika Verma rose to fame with her stint in the serial, Yeh Hai Mohabbatein. She also was a former model and had made a few notable performances in films as well. However, it was after her marriage with US-based NRI, Anand Kapai when she decided to quit acting and left the country to settle into her married life with her husband. A few years later, Mihika was blessed with her son, Izaan.
Ankita Bhargava was a part of quite a few popular serials such as Kasauti Zindagi Key, Dekha Ek Khwab among many others. She gained recognition through her strong support characters, which was immensely loved by her fans. However, after her wedding with popular television actor, Karan Patel in 2015, she decided to quit acting and happily settled down as a homemaker.
Anjum Farooqui rose to fame with her performance as the second lead in the show, Balika Vadhu. Despite the negative traits of her character in the show, she gained a lot of popularity. But, as the fans were quite eager to see more of her works, she disappointed them all by leaving acting completely as she settled down with her husband, Saqib Syed, who works for the merchant navy.
Rajshree Thakur became a household name with the portrayal of the character of Saloni in the show, Saat Phere: Saloni Ka Safar. However, after her marriage in 2007, Rajshree completely stepped down from mainstream acting. She was seldom seen on the screen, except for a few advertisements and cameo roles, which left her fans disppointed along with a desire for her comeback.
Kanchi Kaul became a household name through her serials, Ek Ladki Anjaani Si, Ek Nanad Ki Khushiyon Ki Chaabi...Meri Bhabhi among others. Her hit shows made her quite famous and thereafter she even landed in a film debut in the Telugu film, Sampangi. In her personal life, she is married to popular television actor, Shabbir Ahluwalia. Sadly, since her last acting stint in 2014, she took a sabbatical from acting and left her fans disheartened.
Actress and television presenter, Deeya Chopra rose to fame with her stint in the hit serial, Mrs Kaushik Ki Paanch Bahuyein. Moreover, she is the sister of popular actress, Roshni Chopra. Before that, Deeya has been a part of quite a few serials which made her acting career hugely succesful. However, she left her prosperous acting career midway in 2012 due to some prior personal commitments.
Neha Bamb rose to fame with the portrayal of the coy girl, 'Kripa' in the hit serial, Kaisa Yeh Pyar Hai opposite Iqbal Khan. She also went on to star in a few other films primarily in the Telugu film industries, which were somewhat successful. However, she had a very less screen space in her career as shortly after her marriage in 2007, she left acting for reasons best known to her.
Addite Shirwaikar, or now known as Addite Malik rose to fame with her stint in popular serials like Shararat, Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki, Baat Humari Pakki Hai among others. In her personal life, she is married to actor and her co-star from the serial, Miilee, Mohit Malik. She was last seen in the 2013 show, Chabbis Barah which went off-air due to low TRP. Since then, Addite has associated herself in the shoes of an entrepreneur and owns restaurants in Mumbai and Bangalore. In 2021, she welcomed her son, Ekbir with husband, Mohit.
Anagha rose to fame with the hit show, Anupamaa and her sudden exit from the show had surprised many. While the actress had been doing a great job, her sudden announcement of not just quitting the show but also the field of acting disheartened many who expected more of her presence. She had claimed that the television industry was full of politics and unhealthy competition, which made her promptly take the decision. Ever since, she has become spiritually inclined towards the worship of Lord Krishna, which she continues to practice in her hometown in Pune.
Sana Khan rose to fame with multiple works of her, such as her performance in the reality show, Bigg Boss 6. Thereafter, she starred in a lot of other shows and films such as Jai Ho, Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, Special OPS among others. While everything seemed perfect in her career, she startled everyone in 2020 when she announced on her social media that she had retired from the glamour world owing to personal reasons. Fast forward to now, she is expecting her first child with her husband, Mufti Anas with whom she tied the knot in 2020.
Somya Seth was famously known by her character name of 'Navya', in the serial, Navya.. Naye Dhadkan Naye Sawaal. Thereafter, she did a few other notable works in shows like Chakravartin Ashok Samrat among others. Interestingly, she also happens to be the niece of Bollywood actor, Govinda and is cousin to Krushna Abhishek and Ragini Khanna. Coming back to her acting career, she quit acting suddenly in 2017, post her marriage with Arun Kapoor. The couple left the country and was blessed with their son, Ayden. In 2019, she divorced her husband, Arun and since then, has been a single mom to her son.
