Oscar-winning singer and music composer, AR Rahman and his wife of 29 years, Saira Banu, dropped a massive bombshell on fans with the announcement of their divorce. Since then, the couple has made headlines every day as their past interviews are dissected and stories of their unhappy marriage unfold. However, the real controversy broke out when Rahman's bassist, Mohini Dey declared her split from her husband, Mark Hartsuch, mere hours after the former's announcement. Well, a day ago, Rahman and Saira's lawyer was the first to rubbish the rumours. Now, Mohini and Rahman's kids, Ameen and Raheema, have also reacted to the false claims, expressing their anger and disappointment.
AR Rahman and Mohini Dey's respective divorce announcements came within mere hours of each other. Eagle-eyed netizens who spotted the timings immediately started speculating on a possible link between the two that might have led to their divorces. Well, Mohini has finally reacted to the rumors spreading online, calling them 'absolute BS.'
The bassist took to Instagram with a story that addressed the rumors and reiterated her desire for everyone to respect her privacy . In it, Mohini wrote:
"I've been getting a humungous amount of requests for interviews and I know exactly what its about so, I have to respectfully turn each one down because I am not interested in fueling into ABSOLUTE BS. I believe my energy is not worth spending on RUMOURS. Kindly, respect my privacy."
Mohini wasn't the only one to react to the absurd claims. Following the spread of the baseless rumours, Rahman's daughter, Raheema, couldn't help but come to her father's defense by bashing the trolls online. In a note shared on her Instagram story, Raheema wrote:
"Always remember... Rumors are carried by haters, spread by fools, and accepted by idiots. Honestly, get a life."
Raheema was soon backed up by her brother and Rahman's son, Ameen. The latter took to Instagram with a post reminding fans that Rahman wasn't just a legend for his incredible musical contribution but also his impeccable values.

Ameen's post included a picture of Rahman alongside a little baby with the phrase, 'So what is the difference? Other than age? This could be a subtle nod toward Rahman's innocence and purity. His post also included a moving caption that could be read as:
"My father is a legend, not just for his incredible contributions, but for the values, respect, and love he has earned over the years. It's disheartening to see false and baseless rumors being spread. Let us all remember the importance of truth and Please refrain from engaging in or spreading such misinformation. Let's preserve his dignity and the incredible impact he has had on all of us. us."
