'Ye Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai's' 'Kartik' Says, 'Didn't Suffer From Heart Attack, Grammatical Error...'

Mohsin Khan, best known for his role as ‘Kartik’ in the show, Ye Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, confessed in an interview in August 2024 that he suffered from a mild heart attack in 2023 due to a poor lifestyle. In the interview, the actor also mentioned he had fatty liver, one of the reasons for the attack. However, the actor has recently clarified that it was not a heart attack, and the confusion occurred because of a minor grammatical error.

Mohsin Khan clarifies he did not suffer from a heart attack but a gastritis attack

However, the actor recently posted on his Instagram handle, his interview with ETimes, where he said that it was a miscommunication and nothing of that sort happened. He had a gastritis attack, which is similar to a heart attack as it causes pain in the abdomen and the chest. The actor wanted to elaborate on this back then but got distracted by other topics. To quote him:

“It was an innocent grammatical error, which created this confusion. I wanted to say, ‘I thought I had a mild gastritis attack,’ but in the flow of the conversation, I said, ‘I think I had a mild heart attack,’ and that caused all the confusion. This is what I actually wanted to say, but I did not elaborate, and soon after, we started talking about other things.”

When Mohsin was asked why he took months to clarify, he said that owing to his shy nature, he thought it best not to comment and let the matter die on its own. The actor did this to avoid further confusion. However, he decided to clear the air as he felt his close ones and well-wishers should know the truth and not worry anymore. Mohsin said:

“That particular video interview, I did because we were to speak about all the struggles and the craft, which we did. Unfortunately, the conversation around health went viral… and the ‘heart attack’ bit got splashed all over the net. So, I thought I should wait for a few days and let the hype die down because I didn’t want any more confusion.”
